What used to be Mt. Carmel is gone. The new church taken over and
the property locked down. Charlie Pace is destroying all that's been
done in the past 13 yrs. Totally devastating... I cant even find the words
to express my sorrow and anger.

The Mt. Carmel Survivors Newsletter
December 2005- March 2006
To All The Survivors, Friends and Supporters,
It has been over three months since my last newsletter and once again I find myself apologizing for taking so long in getting you updated as to all that has been going on. Part of the reason for the delay has been the fact that I have been sick for most of the month of February. For two weeks I had what seemed to be going around all over the country, that is a hacking cough accompanied by loads of mucous. That was followed by six days of diarrhea and severe back spasms. The diarrhea and back spasms were so bad that I took off a whole week from work. I only have myself to blame for the back trouble, having lifted a refrigerator onto a pickup-truck at work, mostly by myself. At my age that was not a smart decision.
Speaking of age, I turned 65 on the 24th of Feb. and Catherine Matteson turned 90 on the 3rd. If my mother had lived she would have also been 90 on the 15th of Feb. I know Paul Fatta also had a birthday in Feb., but am not sure just how old he is. If my memory serves me correctly Renos is a Feb. birthday and also our late friend Peter Hipsman. So many Feb. birthdays amongst Davids group. I'm sure I've missed mentioning several more. Janet Kendrick called about a month ago and said Bob was not doing too good. He is suffering from conjunctive heart failure and finds it hard to breathe.
In my last newsletter I talked about the possibility of leaving Mt. Carmel and relocating elsewhere. Many of you called or wrote expressing that I ought to stay. I appreciate your sentiments and your support, however, due to various pressures, one of them being ill health, I made the choice to leave. I have rented an apartment downtown in Waco in the same building occupied by Catherine Matteson. At 90 yrs of age Catherine is needing help with shopping and other small chores, so hopefully my being near by will turn out to be a good thing. I had considered several options as to where to move my trailer house that I have been buying to a trailer park in the Waco area, or perhaps even to Bonnie Haldeman's property near Tyler. The red-tape involved in moving it, plus the tremendous expense, (as much as $6,000 for the move itself and several thousand more to get electricity, septic tank and water hook up) finally made me decide to abandon the trailer and let the mortgage people repossess it. So far that hasnt happened yet, as I am still current in my payments, but that is probably what is going to happen. It will undoubtedly ruin my credit and I will lose the $30,000 to $40,000 I've already put into it (which of course has mostly been applied to the interest rather than the principle).
I spent all of the month of Feb. (in spite of being sick) and the first part of March making the transition. I now have a new phone number, which is (254) 714-0115. My mailing address will remain the same, P.O. Box 144, Axtell Texas 76624. Do not send any mail to me at 1785 Double EE Ranch Rd., Waco, Texas address as it will either be returned by the post office or fall into the hands of Charlie Pace who is now in control of the Mt. Carmel property. (Sharlenes heavy sigh)
My last letter mentioned the fact that Charles Pace had started bringing Robert Arnold (a.k.a. "Andrew" or "X-98") onto the property again which was not acceptable to me at all. Since that time Andrew's health deteriorated rapidly with him spending time in several facilities here in Waco. He was diagnosed with having "white's disease" which I understand is some kind of cloud that forms over the brain and produces Parkinson's symptoms and also symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. Andrew passed away about 10 a.m. on Feb. 28th. It is kind of interesting that Andrew passed away thirteen years to the day that the BATF raid took place at Mt. Carmel. Charles Pace made a decision to bury Andrew out at the Mt. Carmel cemetery.
(Sharlene's note- Absolutely unreal!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edna Doyle is buried out there. That man harassed her to no end. This is shameful Charlie!! Absolutely, positively shameful!)
I was not included in that decision and would certainly have vetoed it if I had a say, but that is no longer the case with what goes on at Mt. Carmel. In view of this decision, Sheila, Catherine and I did not attend the funeral.
Since my moving from Mt. Carmel is almost complete, Charles Pace has begun locking the gate, thus preventing visitors from having access to the property. Probably the most flagrant act to date that he has performed has been to cut down the crepe myrtle tree that was planted for David Koresh and smash the stone with David's name on it. I was told he also plans on cutting down, or uprooting some 12 or 15 other memorial trees in order to make room for a stage he plans to build in the center of the memorial grove. ( Shars note- horrible man *tears)
I remember when we first planted the trees some 10 or so years ago. Charles, along with 20-30 people in two, proceeded to march around the site putting a "curse" on the trees that they would die, since he believed they were pagan. Now that I am not there to prevent him from doing whatever he likes he has finally made his move to get rid of the memorial. He has already begun moving the stones from some of the trees and has put them along the neighboring fence line up near the cemetery. (Shars note- such shock and disgust. I am so devastated this... this TROLL has been able to just destroy it all!!)
As part of my moving from Mt. Carmel, I have shut down the visitor's center and removed all of the pictures, books, videos and displays from the building. They are currently being stored. Hopefully another display can be set up in another location at a future date. It is my understanding that Charles plans for the visitor's center building is to use it for his consultation and massage work that he does. He is planning on converting the chapel into a visitor's center of sorts at a later time.
In view of all that has been taking place these past twelve months I had decided not to hold the April 19th memorial service at Mt. Carmel this year. In fact I have not planned on holding a service at all, at least not in the style we have in the past. I had hoped that the 2006 memorial would be blessed by having some of the guys who had gotten out of prison in Nov. able to attend. But that is not going to happen. Each one that had been released has to do 6 months in a half-way house and they are not allowed to fraternize together or come into contact with any other former felons. If there are those who choose to come on April 19th anyway, I've been told Charles Pace plans on having some sort of service, but I will not be attending. The survivors in this area will observe the day and get together somewhere off the property. Anyone wishing to join us should call and make arrangements by phone.
Quite a number of people have called or written wanting to know where they guys are currently located. The following addresses are where you can write to them. I would suggest that you be circumspect as to what you write to them, as they are being watched very closely at this time. Also, if you have ideas of visiting any of them, I would advice checking with them first. Keven Whitecliff can receive mail at: 420 Baltimore, San Antonio, Tx. 78215. (This is not where he lives, but is a clearing house for mail for several different half-way houses). You could try writing to Paul Fatta, c/o of his father Gordon Fatta, The Big Kahuna, 3700 Ingraham St. San Diego, CA 92109. (This is not where he lives either, Paul prefers not to have his half-way house address made public). Jamie Castillo can be contacted at Vinewood CCC, 5520 Harold Way, Los Angeles, CA 90028. I have no heard directly from Jamie since his release. Nor have I heard directly or indirectly from Brad, who I understand was also released to the San Antonio area.
I am sorry that the news in this letter could not have been better. I know many will be disappointed in the decisions I have made, some might even be angry, and if that is the case I am sorry. So many of you have supported us through the years, both in person and financially. We have made enduring friendships and for this I am very grateful. Mt. Carmel and its future is in God's hands. My prayer is that the Lord will soon personally intervene and set matters straight. In establishing His Kingdom, the earth sin and suffering can be brought to and end. I look forward to seeing you all, if not before, then at least in that Kingdom of Peace.
Your friend and servant,
Clive Doyle
