Cheryl SealWhile Bush Tries to Sell War, Media Tries to Sell CheneyFri Mar 24, 2006 13:41Just to reiterate what has been said by several posters at APFN - PSYOPS had its propaganda budget expanded dramatically - more than doubled. The mainstream media, Madison Ave. PR firms and the Pentagon are all working together now to blitz the US with propaganda, some of it slickly packaged, some of it, like the bit below, not so slick.
Media Launches Pathetic Cheney PR Campaign
So check out this idiot brigade poll at AOL - it's just one sample of the mainstream media's big "Boost Dick "Evil Elmer Fudd" Cheney" campaign. The story/poll, is a pathetic attempt to get Dickie into the news in a "playful" light. Let’s face it – that’s about as likely to get pulled off as making Bush look like an “elder statesman.”
The lead in to the poll presents us with Cheney's demands to any hotel where he stays on a trip. Of course, they include only modest demands that any ordinary mildly fussy exec on a business trip might request.
TV's should be set on Fox News
· All lights should be on
· Thermostat should be at 68 degrees
· Decaf coffee should be ready
· Four cans of Diet Sprite
· Four to six bottles of water
· The hotel's restaurant menu
· Selected newspapers
· A desk with a chair
· A private bathroom
· A container for ice
· A microwave oven
· A king or queen size bed
Having FOX news top the list is just a "kill two birds with one stone" ploy - give a free ad to FOX (the station that gave Cheney a big fat free pass in the post-quail hunting interview). The poll questions are designed to force those taking the poll to make a positive response . Only two questions, each with just two possible responses, are presented:
Question One: Are you surprised by Cheney's list? Yes or No
Question Two: How demanding do you think he sounds? A. He's like a rock star B. He sounds easy to please.
So you have to either compare Cheney to a rock star (gag – can’t you just picture Dickie in tight leather pants?! SCARY!) or gush that he's just so darn easy to please! Real choice, eh? And, of course, since they carefully only list easy to fufill demands, the poll is designed to push you to say you think Cheney is easy to please. And from there, of course, Joe Poll-taker is supposed to then conclude. "Gee whiz, I guess ole Dick couldn't be that bad a guy, huh?"
Check out this pitiful poll
