The letter written in the Spanishlanguage and dated Thursday March 11, 2004 can beaccessed at http://www.aztlan.net/carta_operacion_madrid.htm A copy of the letter was also received by a Palestiniannews service in London and has not been authenticatedas being genuine. The Spanish government believespresently that the attack on the Madrid commuter trainswere committed by the Basque separatist organizationETA but currently there are some Spanish media reportssaying that ETA has denied any involvement. Two othertheories have emerged concerning who may be responsiblefor the attacks. The first is that the attacks were acombined ETA and Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades operation. The other theory is that certain other groups that standto benefit from the attacks are to blame. Among thesegroups, the Israeli MOSSAD has been mentioned. Some of the most significant points concerning thesupposed letter from the Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigadesis that they name and also take credit for other attacksand in addition warn of a catastrophic one they named"The Winds of the Black Death" which is in its finalphases of planning. The letter also gives instructionsto two of their groups, the Bilal ibn Rabah and theAbu Ali al Harfi Squadrons.* * * * * * * * * * * * * *La Voz de Aztlan http://www.aztlan.net
