There is a network of throwers of outdoor festival parties called the
"Rolling Thunder Down Home Democracy Tour" that holds events in towns across
the country. Founded by "populist" Jim Hightower, former Texas Ag.
Commissioner, and mainly intended to promote the politics of the left, it
can provide a model and occasion for reformers of other persuasions to
advance their agendas. They are worth studying, and perhaps piggybacking on.
