Scarry thing just happened at my house.

Ya know, I'm quite wrapped up in seeing the Maine results and so delighted to see that Dennis Kucinich was at 14% (now it's 15% w/ only 50% reported) AND watching the grammy awards......so I called my 16 yr old son when Coldplay received the 'Album of the Year' award [a gift he received from grandma].

As I was speaking w/ him, a knock [and loud one at that] and there were THREE (not one, not two but 3) Austin police officers at my door. Wanting to come in my house to make sure everything was okay.

My heart was racing and YES, I was nervous. Caught totally off-guard.

THEY WERE INVESTIGATING A DISCONNECTED CALL FROM MY HOME PHONE TO 911!!

I was flabbergasted. I had only called my son. As they were leaving, I realized that the first time I tried to reach my teen I had misdialed and that was the innocent trigger to 911. BTW, his phone number is 913-21XX.

At least I now can understand why the THREE of 'em showed up at my door, but I think my heart is still racing a bit.

Guess I should count my blessings. IF there had been a true emergency and the 911 call was 'disconnected' it is good to know that they show up so quickly. But it is still quite unnerving.
