Police Go way overboard in Daytona Suicide

I recently reading the local newspaper and came across an intriguing article. It was about an Asian man who walked into a military supply store on International BLVD, in Daytona
Beach, and committed suicide.

The thing I found to be strange is how the police handled it.

The Story goes that an Asian man had come into the store the day before and looked at some guns. The next day he came back into the military surplus store and asked to look at a .45 caliber hand gun. When the owner of the shop, gave the man the handgun to inspect, he pulled a .45 caliber bullet out of his pocket and loaded the gun. He then put the gun to his head and said he was going to kill himself. The owner of the store told everyone in the store to get out, and then he got out of the store. What followed, by reports was a loud "popping" noise. Duhhhhh, how about just calling it what it was a gunshot.

Anyway, the police arrived in riot gear with military camoulfladge on with automatic weapons, and closed off the entire area, evacuated all the businesses in the area and shut down that part of the neighborhood for 3 HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!! they had one of those bomb robots armed with a camera to go in to "Verify" that the man was dead. He only had one bullet!!!! Eye-Witnesses heard a shot!!! He said he was going to kill himself!!!

The police acted like charles manson had kidnapped the presidents daughter and was holding her hostage or something, with bombs strapped to him.

I am convinced since it was a military supply store they did that, they want to make it look like that is a dangerous place to be or something or that anyone that goes into a store like that is some sore of dangerous individual. There was totally no need for all of that drama, sure it was good news material, but they didn't have to go way overboard like that.

The police said they tried to contact the man by yelling through a mega phone to respond and no response. How come all those men with all of their riot gear on couldnt just cautiously walk upto/by the doorway/window and look in to see that the guy was dead. PFFT.

Anyone have anything like this happening in their area, police going way overboard on stuff like this.
