OBITUARY: COMMON SENSE (1776-19??)

Died in America ( USA)

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend by the name of Common Sense (1776-19??) who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such value lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and that life isn't always fair. He/She is best remembered by their works that we all know so well as the CONSTITUTION and THE BILL OF RIGHTS which have died with them.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not kids, are in charge). His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well intentioned but over bearing regulations were set in place.

Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouth wash after lunch; and a teacher fired for repremanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer aspirin to a student; however they could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Even after the Ten Commandments were removed from the court houses you are still required to "Swear to God on the Bible? Is this not contradiction? What if that person does not believe in "our" God?

Common sense really went down hill when it became illegal to punish your children when they become unruly. Common sense did not realize that "spare the rod, spoil the child was now void and invalid.

He/She also did not realize that it is now "ok" for the Government to seize personnel property when the Bill of Rights CLEARLY states that the Government SHALL NOT TAKE PERSONNEL PROPERTY UNLESS IT BENEFITS THE WHOLE OF THE NATION.

While common sense was not looking, politicians are now wanting to be elected for POWER and GREED instead of representing the majority and true concerns of the people.

That Federal Judges are appointed for life and of course, they are going to "listen and follow their appointees wishes" instead of the Constitution. Maybe this should be an elected position?? After all, they are supposed to UPHOLD THE VALUES OF THE CONSTITUTION! Not the wishes of the President.

Common Sense finally gave up the ghost after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, she spilled a bit in her lap, and was awarded a huge settlement and that politicians use that "scratch my back and I will scratch your back" attitude instead of caring for the people that ELECTED them!

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.

He is survived by two stepbrothers; My Rights and Ima Whiner.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

If you still know him pass this on, if not join the majority and do nothing.
