Sir,
To the Author of the Above Article.
I have read your article and feel compelled to comment on it.
It is everyone's democratic right (in as much as democracy exists anywhere
on our planet) to hold any view they wish provided it is injurious to
no-one. Though not in agreement with the thrust of your article, i.e. that
it was the Mossad that was responsible for the 9/11 attack, I respect your
right to interpret the 'evidence' in that way.
However, I would direct you, if you have not already, to read Umberto Eco's
novel ' Foucault's Pendulum', as a lesson in subjectivity masquerading as
objectivity, which is what I feel your article represents. Let me state
explicitly that I don't say you are wrong, but I maintain that your claim
that the case is one of iron-clad Zionist culpability is not certainly
right. It could also have been one of several other groups, including a
wholey home-grown American 'conspiracy.' WASPs are as capable of forming
conspiracies just as well as Jews, or was it a group of Zionists at Deeley
Plaza that day in 1963 too?
Regarding your assertions, certainly the Mossad undertakes covert operations
designed to further its own aims, but I have news for you, that's what
intelligence agencies do. The CIA has for years fermented and instigated the
most terrible atrocities in South America which have nothing to do with
'Zionist' interest (may I direct you towards the handiwork of the graduates
of the notorious 'School of the Americas.') And 'false flag operations,'
goodness me what a vile Zionist invention. You certainly wouldn't find
American institutions doing anything like that would you? Certainly not USAF
Generals such as Curtis LeMay planning to deliberately violate Soviet
airspace, then use their mobilisation as a pretext for US attacks. And most
emphatically not Operation Northwoods, a fake American terror attack to
galvanise support for a Cuban War. The naked truth is that international
relations are a dirty business, it's machtpolitik, dog eat dog Darwinist
(or, as you are an American, Creationist) struggle and no one, but no one,
has clean hands.
Certainly too Zionist influence was exerted throughout the 20th century
during important historical events. Yet, like a Venn diagram, many other
powerful groups and nations were doing likewise. WWI was relentless driven
forwards by the Kaiser's immature envy of his British cousins and Germany's
powerful imperialist ambitions. Such events are thus precipitated by complex
collisions of factors, and certainly not reducible to your childish
simplicities such as "the Zionists were responsible for WWI and WWII." Any
decent historian worth his or her salt would laugh you out of town for such
preposterous nonsense.
The trouble with your general argument is one of double bind. If, as you
claim, the Mossad were powerful enough, professional enough and well
organised enough to mastermind the 9/11 attack without trace (exception
obviously for your piercing mind, thank Heavens America has you guard its
real interests) do you really think its operatives would then allow
themselves to be seen and photographed celebrating and hi-fiving in front of
the crumbling World Trade Centre? What utter tripe. And by the way,
loathsome as such a 'celebration' was, I've talked first hand to old men in
South East Asia that remember Americans doing just the same thing as they
stood and watched another Vietnamese village burn. It's so easy to point the
finger and take the moral high ground isn't it? Whilst we're on the subject
I don't remember much of an outcry in the United States when I was watching
American-funded terrorists (the IRA) blow up the children of Warrington,
Omagh, London etc. But somehow the Irish just don't make such great copy as
the Jews do they?
On a grander scale too, if the 'Zionist monster' was really as powerful and
exerted such a strangulating grip over the worlds institutions, media,
military etc, they would hardly be troubled by a few ramshackled
Palestinians in refuge camps. The truth is that you are just peddling the
same tired old Protocols of the Elders of Zion balderdash, spiced up and
reheated for the 21st century.
I know there was more to 9/11 than the ruling powers let on. I know that
details were forged, evidence ignored or destroyed, suspects never caught.
But I also know enough to know that I can have no certainty about who did
actually organise the attack, and neither can you. As I said at the start of
this email, I respect your right to think that it was Israel, but you have
no right to try and lamely pass that off as fact. It's my democratic right
also to think you an absolute idiot. And indeed I do.
Respectfully yours,
David Solomons - David.Solomons@islington.gov.uk
PS - A joke that you might appreciate, as told to me by a Rabbi. "What's the
definition of an anti-Semite? Anyone who hates the Jews more than is
absolutely necessary."
PPS - And a joke you might not. Lindburgh is talking to FDR and he says
“Everything that is wrong with America today is the fault of the Jews.” And
FDR says, “Yes, the Jews and the bicycle riders.” So Lindburgh says, “Why
the bicycle riders?” to which FDR replies, “Why the Jews?”

Saudi Minister: Jews Behind 9/11 Attacks
By ALAA SHAHINE
Associated Press Writer
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) -- The Saudi police minister has claimed
Jews were behind the Sept. 11 attacks because they have benefited from
subsequent criticism of Islam and Arabs, according to media reports.
Interior Minister Prince Nayef made the remarks in the Arabic-language
Kuwaiti daily Assyasah last month. The latest edition of Ain al-Yaqeen, a
weekly Internet magazine devoted to Saudi issues, posted the Assyasah
interview and its own English translation.
"We know that the Jews have manipulated the Sept. 11 incidents and turned
American public opinion against Arabs and Muslims," Prince Nayef was quoted
as saying in the Arabic text, while Ain al Yaqeen's English version referred
to "Zionists" instead of "Jews."
"We still ask ourselves: Who has benefited from Sept. 11 attacks? I think
they (the Jews) were the protagonists of such attacks," Nayef was quoted as
saying. Nayef's spokesman, Saud al-Musaibeeh, did not respond to repeated
requests for confirmation the minister had been quoted accurately.
The Internet magazine's English translation of the comments began to attract
attention in the United States just as the Saudis launched a new public
relations campaign to address accusations the kingdom is soft on terrorism
and inculcates extremist thought among its citizens.
"The Saudis are telling us that they are an ally in the war on terror while
their top government officials are still blaming ... the Jews and denying
that 15 Saudis took part in the attacks on New York and the Pentagon," Rep.
Eliot Engel, a New York Democrat, said in Washington earlier this week.
"The Bush administration continually defends Saudi Arabia as a friend of the
United States and a committed partner in the war on terror," Engel said.
"Does this Saudi minister sound like a partner in the war on terror?"
Sen. Charles Schumer, also a New York Democrat, wrote this week in a letter
to the Saudi ambassador to the United States that "the interior minister's
comments only serve to confirm American suspicions about the Saudi
government's commitment to the war on terror."
Nayef's remarks echoed rumors that have been heard in the Arab world since
the attacks - but this time they are attributed to the man in charge of
Saudi investigations into the attacks.
The Saudi minister was quoted in the interview as saying his kingdom is
currently detaining some 100 terror suspects for interrogation. He added
that the suspects "will either apologize for their mistakes and change their
course or will be referred to trial."
The United States has blamed the Sept. 11 attacks on al-Qaida terror
network, whose chief, Osama bin Laden, was stripped of his Saudi citizenship
in 1994. It took Saudi Arabia five months after the attacks to acknowledge
that 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudis. The Gulf kingdom, a close U.S.
ally, has never officially held al-Qaida responsible for the attacks and
usually refers to the hijackers as people "enticed and deluded" into
committing their crimes.
Several statements attributed to bin Laden aired by the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera
television claimed responsibility for the attacks. A statement attributed to
al-Qaida's "political bureau" that appeared Monday on an Islamic web site
listed the Sept. 11 attacks as among the successful operations carried out
by the terrorist group against the United States.
In the interview, Nayef said he could not believe that bin Laden and his
network, including Saudi participants, worked alone.
He was quoted as saying he believed terrorist networks have links to
"foreign intelligence agencies that work against Arab and Muslim interests,
chief among them is the Israeli Mossad."
