Now isn't this refreshing. Ms. Guinnane has the guts to call them as they are! Yes the media people are whores. They have sold out. Gone are the journalistic principles they started with. Their drive to report the truth has faded into a distant memory. Now they shill for the Powers That Be and cash their paychecks. Must be a dismal existence!

WHORES OF THE PRESS, UNITE!

Would that Thomas Paine were alive today to repeat those words directly to the American people, and into the faces of every pseduo-journalist, too frightened of being murdered by some U.S. government assassin to write the truth. Although, in fairness to our ink reliant friends, their hands are tied. Their bosses are giant corporations, so that reporters are made into whores whether they like it or not and any notion that we have a free press in these troubled times is fantasy. Fiction. Literally fiction, unless of course the truth happens to suit their masters' agenda on any given day.

So here's what I propose: Whores of the press, unite! Include in your numbers the talking heads on corporate controlled Teee Veee! Walk off the job, en masse. Arrange in secret the time, the date, and just do it! Never mind that there won't be anyone to interview you to ask why---it wouldn't see print or get aired anyway! The American public, thick-skulled though we've grown, will finally start to wake-up! Americans will ask questions, Americans will start to behave like Americans again and re-act! Yes, imagine! An interested pubic just like we used to have!

"Tom Brokaw walked off the set---why there's something wrong here, isn't there, Jake? Couldn't be money. Man makes enough in one year to feed an entire third world country! And Peter Jennings, at the same time?"

"Did you hear that the newspapers have shut down; the reporters are picketing? Let's take a drive over to the Herald and see for ourselves what those picket signs say."

Well, all you journalists out there in statue of liberty land? What do you say? Thomas Paine and that other Thomas who put so much effort into securing the United States of America as a free country may not be here in the flesh, no. But rest assured that they are watching. They await the verdict with trepidation, too, for the jury is still out.

Do we take our republic back or don't we? Her fate rests in the hands of the whore press; now that's one hell of a note, wouldn't you say? I mean, you don't HAVE to be whores. To prostitute yourselves is a choice.

Choose to serve your country instead. If for no other reason, for the sake of the children, the yet to be born, make the right choice.
