Alan R. AdaschikHoward Dean: The Next Ross PerotThu Jan 22 10:54:28 200465.128.200.33My political outlook and philosophy, though in keeping with that of our Founding Fathers, is considered by many Americans to sit on the kooky side of the fence. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on your point of view, the actions and policies of our last two presidents, "blow jobs are not sex" Clinton and "bomb’em all and let God sort it out" Bush, people are slowly beginning to wake up and realize that not only are my views the right way to run a government, they are the only way to run a government (i.e. Government officials should tell the truth and are not above the law). However, despite this, the ruling establishment of this nation will do anything to discredit views such as mine and any politician foolish enough to expound them. Recently, through a friend of a friend, I discovered Howard Dean. Upon doing a little research, I realized that his political outlook was similar to mine and that of all the current crop of presidential "wanna be’s", he offered the best hope for this Nation and its people. However, with this revelation, I also knew that the ruling establishment would do anything to ensure that Dean is not elected. How will this be accomplished? In the tried and true way of ignoring what the man stands for and attacking him personally thereby discrediting what he stands for (guilt by association; if a man’s a nut, so are his ideas).Going into the Iowa Caucus, Dean was the decisive front runner of the Democratic field and in the end came out a very weak third. This flip-flop was so dramatic, that one is forced to wonder how this could happen? The answer to this question is readily apparent if we examine how the mainstream media treated Dean leading up to the caucus; a loose cannon who cannot control his temper; the implication being that Dean is not presidential material. Of course, both Bill Clinton and George Bush are presidential material despite the fact that they both are pathological liars with the former being a sexual predator and the latter being an imperialist war monger. This chord of character assassination, having been struck by the media with such obvious success in Iowa, will now be fine tuned to finish the job. This morning (Jan. 22nd), the Pocono Record featured and editorial by George F. Will entitled, "Iowa’s lesson: Dems do want to replace Bush", where Mr. Will says that:· They (Iowa’s citizens) responded by slowing the slide of the world’s oldest party toward nominating a political novelty (Dean) unsuited to the national market. · Dean is a problematic product because the fuel that launched his rocket - a combustible brew of anger, pugnacity, moral vanity and intellectual condescension. · Democrats are now flinching from the prospect of having - or of asking less-partisan Americans to have - prolonged intimacy with Dean’s sand papery personality and equally abrasive agenda. To top off Mr. Will’s impressive job of character assassination, the Pocono Record included a cartoon from the Augusta Chronicle which depicted a Dean supporter being addressed by a cow who opined, "Sure, I may be mad….then again I’m not the one voting for Howard Dean. There you have it, Dean is unsuited to the National Market, is problematic, prone to anger, pugnacious, abrasive, morally vane, has an abrasive agenda and those that support him are loonier than a cow with mad cow disease. To be sure, you do not have to even bother to ask what Dean’s agenda is or why so many Americans support him. Surely a group of people that are this crazy have nothing worth saying that the rest of the American people want to hear. Case closed: Dean like Ross Perot is an out of touch nut-job, so are his supporters, and so is anything he or they have to say.The thing about Howard Dean that you will never hear in the press anymore is that Dean was the former governor of Vermont. The reason for this is that it is impossible to reconcile the nut-job picture of Dean that the ruling establishment wishes to create with this man’s real image as a very responsible governor of the great state of Vermont. Iowa, got it right, those Vermontorians are the real nut-jobs.What is the truth of this matter. Dean is only not suited to the National Market because of how the mainstream media is presently portraying him. Dean’s anger and abrasiveness is appropriate for a time when our government has so miserably failed the American people. Any politician that is not angry about the real state of our union is either an idiot or a con artist. Finally, of course Dean’s agenda is abrasive; any agenda which even hints at reversing the insane path that this nation is embarked upon will, by necessity, be abrasive in comparison. In conclusion, its politics as usual in America; official lies, subterfuge, deception, illegality, imperialism, character assassination, demagoguery, delusion, are all alive and well in America as far as our ruling establishment is concerned. Furthermore, not only is acceptance of these things a necessary attribute for positions of leadership in our society, it is also the prime attribute for those that aspire to the office of the president. Dean is a candidate that not only does not accept these things, but he is very angry about them. This is why he must be stopped. Heaven forbid that this nation will ever once again have a government that is of the people, by the people, and for the people. SIR.
