TERROR CASE TESTS U.S. PATRIOT ACT Associated Press For nearly a decade, the FBI tapped Sami Al-Arian's telephones and faxes, keeping what they learned about the University of South Florida professor a secret - even from their own colleagues. The law at the time didn't allow the agents to share what they knew with fellow FBI agents who later began investigating possible criminal charges against Al-Arian, accused of aiding terrorists. . . Al-Arian, Sammeh Hammoudeh, Hatim Naji Fariz and Ghassan Zayed Ballut face trial in 2005 on charges they used an academic think tank, a Muslim school and a charity as a cover for raising money for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, which is believed to be responsible for the deaths of more than 100 people in attacks in Israel. http://news.findlaw.com/ap/other/1110/1-19-2004/20040119001503_1.html Read The Patriot Act [PDF] http://news.findlaw.com/hdocs/docs/terrorism/patriotact.pdf ----------------------------------------------------------------------- TOP NEWS -- RELEVANT HEARSAY ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Sick Publicity Stunt POLICE PROBE 'ASSAULT' ON SCIENTIST STEPHEN HAWKING Reuters British police are investigating an alleged assault on scientist Stephen Hawking, the disabled cosmologist and author of the best-selling "A Brief History of Time." By FindLaw Columnist, Michael Dorf Columbia law professor Michael Dorf discusses the conjunction of two important news stories -- the story of the current Presidential primary caucuses, and the story relating the proposed U.S. plan for Iraqi elections, which would also employ caucuses. Dorf considers the pros and cons of caucuses, and contrasts the likely results of elections employing caucuses and direct elections, respectively, in Iraq. He also argues that the Bush Administration should consider extending the deadline for Iraqi elections in order to allow a Constitution to be put into place, which will make the caucus/direct election choice a more genuine one. http://writ.news.findlaw.com/dorf/20040119.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------- CYBERLAW NEWS -- DOWNLOAD THIS! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Smoke Signals SENECAS SUE OVER INTERNET TOBACCO BAN Associated Press The Seneca Indian Nation is suing New York over the state's ban on Internet tobacco sales, claiming the law is unconstitutional and interferes with the nation's sovereignty. In the case of dog enthusiast Sharon Pezzuti, it depends on who you ask. Authorities this week charged Pezzuti, 42, with receiving stolen property for allegedly harboring Blue -- her neighbor's black-and-tan Husky-Rottweiler mix. This follows a November citation for criminal trespass after a similar unwanted dog-sitting session. But according to Pezzuti, the only thing she is guilty of is loving animals too much. http://news.findlaw.com/court_tv/s/20040115/15jan2004173910.html ============================================================= Alex Jones www.infowars.com now on radio is playing clips of Silverstein owner of WTC while on TV with WT7, said "Pull the building" which means bring it down, and even said there would be a terrible loss of life. This is when the Bldg 7 collapsed. It was also in a documentary on PBS in Sept. 2001. Then Dan Rather comes on and says it looks like "well placed dynamite." The only reason the firefighters went in the building is because they knew a building like (concrete and steel) that has been safe, and some hotels have been on fire for days. They reported the fires were out. Why was FEMA arresting people 2 days later with just little film cameras? 9-11 was the biggest hoax ever! They have just classified documents from Pearl. I can't find the "Operation Northwood's Document" anywhere on the Net even in the Way Back Machine, which was a WTC scenario...hummm. Any one having it please send it to me. I prefer the Adobe version with a copy of the document. They won't even give us access to the tapes, probably because the bombs going off can be heard in the background. The firefighters were told by the FBI not to mention it, that it was a matter of National Security. Many were taken to Bellevue, need I say more. I told everyone, there was a mini-nuke set off and a short 14 day radiation life. The planes were only a diversion, perhaps unmanned in order to make those impossible maneuvers to hit the WTC, and no debris was found at the Pentagon. Seismographs went off the charts when the planes hit the WTC, and those building imploded. FEMA was there the night before and the media was ready. Tom Brokaw stayed over and was in a business suit the BRIGHT AND EARLY the next morning! Those firemen do not just have a cough, but Cancer from the radiation, and many of them will lose their lives. I hope every family member orders an autopsy. But if they really want to cover it up, they will just say COPD a generic diagnosis, covering all their bases.
