World not fooled by Washington’s hypocrisy and lies

TEHRAN, Jan. 19 (MNA) -- The U.S. Administration’s belligerent unilateralist policies during President George W. Bush’s first term brought about nothing but crisis and insecurity for the world.
The remarks of Condoleezza Rice, Bush’s nominee for the post of secretary of state, on the first day of questioning by the Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee reveal the United States’ strategy of global expansionism.
Although Rice tried to pretend that U.S. diplomacy during Bush’s second term would be based on cooperation with the international community, she sanctioned Bush’s policies in 2001 by classifying countries in the same way as before.
After the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Bush said whoever is not with the U.S. is against it and an accomplice of the terrorists.
Rice has branded Iran and other countries, which oppose the United States’ unilateralist and interventionist policies as tyrannical states.
Rice claimed that the U.S. would do its best to support democratic societies but called Iran a despotic country, although it is one of the most democratic states in the region.
It is obvious that the U.S. does not want democracy to rule the world since it has already toppled many democratic systems.
U.S. officials do not believe in freedom, democracy, and human rights but just use the expressions as tools to deceive people.
Rice and other White House officials hypocritically talk of democracy and claim to be engaged in a campaign against terrorism while they are equipping terrorist groups and supporting the Zionist regime, which practices state-sponsored terrorism.
U.S. officials clearly do not practice what they preach. The United States is producing weapons of mass destruction, such as nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons, while it has adopted the establishment of a “WMD-free world” as it slogan. Washington voices support for freedom, human rights, and democracy but violates Muslims’ rights. The U.S. claims to uphold freedom of religion but takes a hostile stance toward Islam and openly insults the tenets of the Muslim faith.
In her statements, Rice tried to differentiate between the Iranian people and government in an attempt to show that the U.S. supports the will of the Iranian nation.
Meanwhile, the Iranian government, backed by the people, has given top priority to expansion of ties with the international community.
Iran is one of a handful of countries which have adopted independent policies and stood up to U.S. expansionism.
It can be concluded that White House officials are incensed by Iran’s independent stance and that is why they make baseless accusations against Iran every now and then.
