You did not have the decency to inform the reader of your whereabouts. Obviously, you are not an American. Which reminds me, you had the enormous gall to write “American” in lower case. Perhaps you are from Denmark? Or Norway? If so, hundreds of thousands of Americans died, thousands more wounded, to remove the Nazi yoke of oppression from your country. Perhaps you are from Sweden. The same is true, just a question of time. To Adolf Hitler’s convenience, Sweden remained neutral during WWII, but a German victory in Europe would have made that circumstance moot. Perhaps you are a transplant from Scandinavia to Germany or Austria, and, although these free and democratic nations (due to the efforts of Americans) are doing their best to rid themselves of the scourge, you pretty much sound like a revisionist Nazi. Since WWII, in far-flung places like Korea, Vietnam, Kuwait, Yugoslavia, and others, Americans have foot the bill and lost their sons and daughters for freedom. We definitely do not want the job, but it fell to US by default. France? You have to be joking. Bankrupt Russia? Same response. Britain alone? The desire, but not the resources. Aw, the U.N., right? With the veto power of France, Russia, and China, the U.N. Security Council is powerless. In the aftermath of that dreadful day, September Eleventh, once again Americans are in the forefront of the WOT, paying with their pocketbook and, far more tragically, their cherished young who represent our future. You do not want zany Americans to come to your soil? That is a two-edged sword. With your wacky ideas, please do not come to ours. Ironically, because this is America, you have the right to do so. Should you chose that unwise course, I would welcome you with open arms, then straighten you out – with a right hook. That has both a literal and allegorical meaning.
