WE ARE GOING DOWN
The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace
alarmed by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins,
all of them imaginary. - H. L. Mencken
The Roman Empire ceased to exist because of welfare,
inflation, huge government and military waste and
proliferation and taxes that strangled the citizens into
crime, theft, and lawlessness. Just as the graphs of Adam
Hamilton show our current stock performance to be virtually
identical to 1929-1933; America's economy, governmental
proliferation, and actions are identical to Rome's. WE ARE
GOING DOWN - Don Stott
YES, THOSE UNGRATEFUL WRETCHES OWE US A REAL DEBT OF
GRATITUDE...
By Nolan K. Anderson
Unfortunately, Mr. Stott doesn't include the hazard of being
guided into oblivion by a moronic homicidal maniac of George
Bush's caliber. Watching our Moron-in-Chief try to explain
to the CBS program, 60 Minutes on January 14 why he, as the
"Great Decider", has been solely empowered by some decree,
entity or custom to decide the question of whether to
escalate a war that he lied this country into was a
frightening experience. Knowing that such an intellectually
handicapped individual has at his fingertips the power to
unleash an atomic holocaust that could ultimately destroy
all living matter on the planet is a terrifying prospect.
However, such an experience does point out that the prospect
of growing up to be president is not out of the reach of
anyone - no matter what one's grade average may indicate.
However, the question of hobgoblins is not so pertinent as
it used to be. George Bush was convinced by "George Tenet
and "Rummy" that stealing Iraq's oil was going to be such a
"cake walk" that there was really no need for exercising the
prudence that had guided Bush senior in his bout with
Saddam. When it came time to commit enough troops for this
intended aggression, prudence gave way to "doing it on the
cheap and writing new pages of military history". Now after
three years the insurgents are no longer "hobgoblins"; they
are real, live killers of American husbands, boyfriends,
fathers and mothers. The Bush that returned to the the 60
Minutes cameras after talking to some of the families of
those killed in Iraq, was a different person. Sitting behind
a safe desk ordering others to "die for a lie" is quite
different than trying to explain the LIE that brought the
surviving family members face to face with their
Liar-in-Chief.
"Our administration took care of a source of instability in
Iraq. Envision a world in which Saddam Hussein was rushing
for a nuclear weapon to compete against Iran. He was a
significant source of instability". - George W. Bush
Yes, try to imagine a world where Saddam was going to drop a
nuclear weapon on Tehran instead of having it dropped by the
United States. Imagine a Middle East contaminated for the
next 4.5 BILLION years with depleted uranium that wasn't put
there by the United States. Imagine an Abu Ghraib without
dogs. Imagine Iraq without a civil war that wasn't produced
by the Pentagon and the CIA. Imagine an Iraq that was
producing oil instead of having to import it. Imagine an
Iraq 8.8 billion dollars richer because Paul Bremer hadn't
stolen it or allowed it to be stolen. Imagine Iraq with a
national museum. Imagine what would have happened to the
insurgency if it hadn't been able to get its hands on
Saddam's explosives and armaments stockpiles because the
United States military had chosen to destroy these military
supplies instead of leaving them for anyone and everyone to
steal. (There weren't enough troops to deal with the obvious
need to destroy the supplies of a defeated army and at the
same time re-write history by dashing through Iraq at a
record setting pace - against no resistance).
FROM THE 60 MINUTE INTERVIEW WITH BUSH:
Asked if he thinks he owes the Iraqi people an apology for
not doing a better job, Bush says, "Well I don't, that we
didn't do a better job or they didn't do a better job?"
"Well, that the United States did not do a better job in
providing security after the invasion?" Pelley clarifies.
"Not at all. I think I am proud of the efforts we did. We
liberated that country from a tyrant. I think the Iraqi
people owe the American people a huge debt of gratitude.
That's the problem here in America. They wonder whether or
not there is a gratitude level that's significant enough in
Iraq," Bush replies.
Now, if one were able to translate this into third-grade
English, the meaning might be that "with all we have given
those ungrateful Iraqis they are still jealous of our
freedoms and are not nearly thankful enough for what we have
given them or done to them".
Yes, that's one of the troubles with the Iraqis. They can't
tell the difference between tyrants. There's an old Iraqi
saying which says, "When you've seen one tyrant, you've seen
them all." Iraqis don't know how much better off they are
with the present tyrant. After all, now they don't have to
worry about clean drinking water - there isn't any. Iraqis
don't have to worry about electrical short circuits burning
their houses down, there is no electricity. With Saddam,
gasoline was subsidized, available everywhere and was
available at a cost most Iraqis could afford. Now gasoline
and refined products have to be imported at a cost few can
afford. Things are so good these days that 50,000 Iraqis per
month try to leave the country. Civil war tears the country
apart and it is a strange day that doesn't yield 20 or more
mutilated bodies on the streets of Baghdad. Birth defects
from depleted uranium are a growing problem among the Iraqis
that has no remedy.
YES, THOSE UNGRATEFUL WRETCHES OWE US A REAL DEBT OF
GRATITUDE.
After all, our returning military personnel are also
beginning to see birth defects in their children from
depleted uranium contamination. And who is going to be there
to help them? The VA? It will take another 20 years for our
government to recognize and admit to there being a radiation
contamination "problem" for our troops. And, there will be
no more help for them in 20 years than there will be for the
next 4.5 billion years. And what about those 650,000 Iraqis
we have killed? They should be grateful that they no longer
have to worry about unemployment or finding enough to eat or
educating their children.
The 60 Minute Interview Resumes:
"The perception, Sir, more than any one of those points, is
that the administration has not been straight with.," Pelley
says.
"Well, I strongly disagree with that, of course," Bush says.
"So I strongly reject that this administration hasn't been
straight with the American people. The minute we found out
they didn't have weapons of mass destruction, I was the
first to say so."
"You seem to be saying that you may have been wrong but you
weren't dishonest," Pelley remarks.
"Oh, absolutely. Everybody was wrong on weapons of mass
destruction and there was an intelligence failure that we're
trying to address. But I was as surprised as anybody he
didn't have them," Bush tells Pelley".
One might logically wonder what size mistake it takes for
there to be consequences for failure to be borne by someone
other than the American taxpayer? Bush admits to an
intelligence failure (but, I don't think he is referring to
his own). So far, there has not been one dismissal that
could be related to the "intelligence failure". Yes, there
have been resignations. George Tenet resigned, Porter Goss
resigned, Rumsfeld resigned, but they were all "doing a heck
of a job". Porter was cavorting around a Washington hotel
with a collection of hookers, but I am sure it was a part of
his "spook" profile. "Rummy" was having more and more
trouble putting a "winning" spin on our failure in Iraq. And
then John Negroponte resigned. I am sure John's resignation
had nothing to do with our failure in Iraq. (After all who
knows more about "Death Squads" than John Negroponte?)
THE INTERVIEW:
Asked if it wasn't his administration that created the
instability in Iraq, Bush says, "Our administration took
care of a source of instability in Iraq. Envision a world in
which Saddam Hussein was rushing for a nuclear weapon to
compete against Iran. My decision to remove Saddam Hussein
was the correct decision in my judgment. He was a
significant source of instability."
Yes, we took care of the instability. Health care was
provided under Saddam. Now whole communities and villages
are denied water, electricity, medicines and medical care as
collective punishment for insurgent attacks. Our Falluja
checkpoints scan fingerprints and retinas. Yes, we have
added a whole new dimension of "stability" to the rubble of
Falluja. Which one of our parasites living in the "Green
Zone" is stupid enough to try to take a "stable" walk in the
Green Zone - or anywhere else in Baghdad for that matter?
What is the unemployment rate in Iraq now - 50%, 60%?
THE INTERVIEW:
"Do you believe, as commander-in-chief, you have the
authority to put
the troops in there no matter what the Congress wants to
do?" Pelley asks.
"I think I've got - in this situation, I do, yeah," Bush
says.
And there you have it folks. Our president has the authority
to do whatever he sees fit. He doesn't have to consult
Congress, the courts, or the Constitution. He is exercising
his mandate of "benevolent dictator". Of course his
benevolence ends when a person, a country or a law gets in
the way of his ego. He is the Commander-in-Chief of the
military and the civil portions of our society. The laws
that protected the individual from the whims and egos of
tyrants and which were purchased at the expense of thousands
of American lives have been nullified by a semi-literate
buffoon. The Constitution which defines the rights of the
individual and those of the government has been shredded by
this simpleton.
AND WHO WILL CHALLENGE THIS BUFFOON? THE CONGRESS?
The people with their silly "votes"? The people spoke with
their votes and what did it get them? It changed the feet of
the "pigs at the trough" in Washington. John Conyers for two
years held hearings on Bush's malfeasance in office and
muttered such things as IMPEACHMENT and CENSURE. Before all
the "chads" had fallen, he had been silenced by Nancy Pelosi
and tranquilized with the chairmanship of the House
Judiciary Committee. There isn't a breath about impeachment
now. Investigate Halliburton? Not while Dick Cheney is Vice
President.
We Americans spend 500 billion dollars per year for the
defense of our freedoms and safeguarding our Constitution
and all its guarantees for the individual. In six years we
have allowed our laws to be broken, our Constitution
shredded and our individual rights to be destroyed by a
cabal of war criminals who have never been dedicated enough
to their country to try to defend it. Not one of those who
planned the "defense of America" from Saddam's remote
controlled aircraft with "WMD crop sprayers" - Cheney,
Wolfowitz, Feith, Perle, Luty, Libby - have ever completed
one day of basic military training, let alone tried to
remain alive on a battlefield.
Not one of their propagandists - Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity,
Rush Limbaugh, Neal Boortz, Bill Kristol - have ever put on
a uniform more military than a Little League baseball
outfit. Rush Limbaugh had a pimple on his ass, Dick Cheney
had "other priorities", Neal Boortz was afflicted with poor
eyesight, Bill O'Reilly had and has "foot-in-mouth-disease".
However, it can be seen that none of these afflictions ever
prevented them from recommending that others go to defend
their freedoms.
