NEW YORK - Personal photos found in the ruins of the
World Trade Center could be making their way back to
victims' families, thanks to a Web site due this
month.

Workers at the site recovered about 8,000 personal
photos, in various conditions, and volunteers at Kodak
worked to restore the pictures as best they could.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is now
creating a Web site that will allow families to scroll
through the images and determine if any belonged to
their loved ones. If so, they can claim the photos
from the Police Department.

The families will get instructions on how to access
the password-protected site in the next week, and it
will be launched on Jan. 18, said Ken Ringler,
executive director of the Port Authority.
