Who is killing Kurds today? It's Sunni and Shiite that are being killed.
Like the Northern Alliance druglords of Afganistan which the US hired to fight the Taliban -- the Kurds are mixed with international organized crime and they do the bidding of the bigger organized criminals. Kurds are doubtless part of the mysterious killings of Shiites blamed on Sunni -- but also the Irsraeli "advisors" who are also all over Iraq.
