Durbin Might Already Be Relishing The Perks

It must be nice to follow up a hard-fought, expensive campaign for U.S. Senate with a few days in Europe with the wife. That's the plan adopted by Sen.-elect Dick Durbin who leaves for Lisbon Wednsday to attend a four day conference by the Aspen Institute on national security and global environment, Durbin aides insist his participation in the conference with other congressmen was scheduled long befor Election Day. But we can't help but wonder: Would Durbin have gone if he would have lost??
