GEORGE BUSH STRONGHOLD SEIZED

by Brian Downing Quig DAILY NEWS DIGEST 8-19-87

Lt. Col. James Bo Gritz, the highly decorated Green Beret Commander who is blowing the lid off our government's involvement in Golden Triangle Heroin trafficking, recently captured new territory of unimagined strategic significance. In Houston 1-18-88 where he was the keynote speaker for the MILITARY ORDER OF WORLD WARS. Col. Gritz was discretely approached and asked if he would address a breakfast meeting of the HOUSTON CLUB the following morning. This group happens to be the elite businessmen's club of Houston which counts Vice President George Bush among it's members.

In fact these businessmen comprise the Vice President's principal financial supporters. They said Bush does not let 10 days pass without calling to hit them up for money.

Col. Gritz asked this group "How many of you would fight to defend the Constitution this very day." Everyone raised their hand including the Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court. "Now let me ask, how many of you know George Bush personally to the extent that you could pick up the telephone and he would take your call." One hundred and twenty five out of one hundred and fifty raised their hands! Gritz then said "Maybe you can help me. I'm having trouble getting through to the wizard myself."

Col. Gritz offered some questions which should be put to the Vice President who was C.I.A. Director during the peroiod that U.S . Government Heroin purchasing went out of control. "If General Khun Sa has undisputed military possession of the territory which supplies 900 tons of heroin and opium to the world and he says that he will stop every ounce, why won't Bush agree to even talk to Khun Sa?" "Why won't George Bush see H. Ross Perot on this same subject." No doubt the Vice President had many disturbing phone calls that week. The audience was most attentive. After all, no one wants to pound money down a rat hole or through a hypedermic needle as the case may be. The sentiment in the room was unanimous when it was proposed that George Bush and Bo Gritz be invited to speak together at a future date soon to be arranged. The George Bush campaign just hit rough sledding.

On another front Col. Gritz has accepted the draft of the AMERICAN INDEPENDENT PARTY for it's presidential candidacy in the June primary in California. Party spokeswoman Shearer states that the chances of Col. Gritz becoming it's national candidate in the November election are excellent. The AMERICAN INDEPENDENT PARTY was founded in 1968 by Governor George Wallace on the premise that there WASN'T A DIME'S WORTH OF DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE DEMOCRATIC AND REPUBLICAN PARTIES. Wallace, was the conservative independent who was shot as he closed the lead on President Nixon in the 1972 Presidential Campaign.

Both George Wallace and Mrs. Wallace made public statements that the White House "Plumbers" were involved in this 1972 shooting. It is interesting to note that some members of this plumbers break-in unit were assigned to the Drug Enforcement Agency at the time of the Watergate. Stay tuned for the drug connection to Watergate.

During his many speaking engagements Col. Gritz does what he knows best. He burrows into the entrails of his country's enemies. He doesn't mention that he can use money for his legal defense against those trying to silence him and his listeners don't think to contribute. The seriousness of the matter is that Ed Meece is threatening Col. Gritz with 5 years in prison for "violation of passport" in a trial coming up May 10th.

The latest word regarding the passport trial is not encouraging. At this time the U.S. Attorney is not allowing testimony of two witnesses who traveled all the way from Thailand to Las Vegas to testify in the defense of Col. Gritz.

The Colonel's attorney, Lamond Mills, who is a previous U.S. Attorney and previous Attorney General of the state of Nevada, said he has never seen such a request denied in a lifetime of law practice.

Arriving with these two witnesses was General Khun Sa's latest offer to deliver to the U.S. government one metric ton of heroin worth $ 4.4 billion in order to show that he is serious about poppy eradication
