It is quite obvious from watching the IRAN\CONTRA hearings that on this panel you are among those foremost in desire to bring forward the drug issue. Your question of Admiral Poindexter about how the Contras could survive 8 months with no visible support implies what is in the back of the minds of many.

What follows may confirm some of your worst fears and perhaps create some new ones. You may have learned of the testimony of Lt. Col. Bo Gritz 6\30\87 before the HOUSE FOREIGN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, International Narcotics Control Task Force. I just learned of this from Johnny Johnson.

Johnny Johnson is a conservative publisher in Arizona who has been a long time associate of General Singlaub. In a recent address in Phoenix and on several radio stations Mr. Johnson has made accusations that Richard Armitage, Richard Secord, Felix Rodriguez, Richard Owens and others are part of a long-term government operation to import heroin into the U.S and use the proceeds for clandestine affairs.
