LETTER A TO SHERIFF JOE ARPAIO

Dear Joe,

I am in the lobby of the Tempe Police station when the crime scene investigator calls up to the lieutenant in charge about my car. Not knowing I was listening the lieutenant says, "Oh that car, take that stuff from the car out back to the dumpster".

It was discovered that the Phoenix police who impounded the car only dusted the outside of the car for prints --- BUT DID NOT USE THE TAPE TO LIFT THE PRINTS WHICH WERE FOUND!!! Phoenix police reported no prints but two very sharp Tempe police found more than 30. They also found it interesting that the name of a former employee of the Tempe police had their phone number in the address book on the page with the bailbondsman.

They also remarked that they had seen plenty of the underwater badges like that found in my car in the office of another lieutenant. An arm patch of the Maracopa County Sheriff's office was also there. And then there were the military patches.

These thieves very methodically took everything of mine from the car but left the hammer and tools used to break the steering column right there. Look at what was left behind. It is all too pat --- even a receipt for a storage locker! I believe the car was turned over to a car theft ring and then taken back when my calls to the U.S. Attorney's office and DEA started things shacking. I doubt that I would ever have seen the car again if I had not agitated the law enforcement community myself.

Respectfully,

BRIAN DOWNING QUIG< Back to HARASSMENT INDEX
