21) Son of (Uncle) Sam
WorldNetDaily
by Ilana Mercer

"William Rusher of the Claremont Institute is right. There is an
ideological war between Bush's social democrats, known as
neoconservatives, and those of us who stand on the Old Right, namely
paleoconservatives and paleolibertarians. Rusher, however, is not
about to tell his readers what it is about the set of policies which
neoconservatives support that makes them global social democrats or
rank leftists." (04/09/03)

23) Operation Hubris
LewRockwell.Com
by Christopher Manion

"Long before 9-11, the attack on Iraq has been the paramount goal of
a powerful and ultimately successful group inside and outside of the
US government. Grim determination, not debate and compromise, was
their method. ... debate was contemptuously denounced as a sign of
'going wobbly,' of 'navel contemplation,' or, when all else failed,
of despicable ethnic bias." (04/09/03)

24) GOP should give spending cuts a chance
Cato Institute
by Veronique de Rugy and Tad DeHaven

"Almost 10 years after the GOP swept into Congress, it is evident
that the self-proclaimed party of limited government has become the
party of _unlimited_ spending. The GOP Congress has delivered three
of the top five largest spending sprees in American history -- the
other two occurred during World War II." (04/09/03)

AntiWar.Com
by Justin Raimondo

"Imperialist chic is in bloom on the left as well as the right, with
weepy liberals like Michael Ignatieff joining neoconservatives Max
Boot and Dinesh D'Souza in hailing the American Caesar. ... It's a

enjoy its momentary fashion, not even the repeal of the American
Revolution." (04/09/03)

26) Scramble for Central Asia bases
Asia Times
by Stephen Blank

"It is clear that the foreign air and other bases in Central Asia are
connected to phenomena beyond the region. Chinese elites see
America's presence there as possibly betokening a future
'encirclement' of China. Russia's military-political elites ... also
see the American bases as a threat to vital Russian interests and
have responded by coercing Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan into granting
Moscow air bases in their territories." (04/09/03)

world the United States does not intend to attack Syria or Iran. But
did the British prime minister or U.S. secretary of state clear their

28) The price of incremental lawlessness
Sierra Times
by Carl F. Worden

"The citizens who make up the militias are often accused of wanting
to overthrow the Government of the United States. That's just not
true. The Government of the United States, as defined by the
Constitution, has already been overthrown, and the relatively
bloodless revolution began in the form of incremental lawlessness."

Liberty For All

never be your slaves. I know, you are laughing at this because you
think we already are and don't know it. You will get the last gulp of

has always been so. You cannot prevail against free will and those of
us who just want a place to call home." (04/08/03)

horrors of the war ... or else these were simply the kinds of
