Freedom begins with responsibility

Freedom begins with responsibility
Fri Dec 5 14:05:37 2003

I urge us all to stop condemning George Bush, or anyone else for that matter.

I urge us all to accept responsibility for the predicament we are in.

We are the soldiers.
We are the police.
We are the corrections officers.
We manufacturer the bullets and the bombs.

We plead with our "leaders" to deliver us peace, prosperity, freedom, and justice even though the very nature of government has always been to deny the "middle and lower classes" those ideals.

The purpose of government is to control the people with law. The power of government increases with each trespass of the law. It is in the interest of the lawmakers, therefore, to provoke lawlessness and rebellion. In this way the power of the law, and that of the lawmaker, grows.

The more we ask for peace and justice the less of it we will get.
The longer we ask for freedom the sooner we will have our total enslavement.

Peace, freedom, and justice are personal choices: to be at peace with ourselves and with others; to think and perceive freely by using our minds to actively analyze rather than passively absorb; to be just in our dealings with others, and in the way we interact with this world.
Prosperity is a richness of character, fullness of heart, a willingness to love.

So let us begin to forge our own agenda. It is not enough to be opposed to the "invincible political-corporate-state" agenda.

How do we see life in its best manifestation? How do create this vision as reality?

And let us please stop admonishing Christianity because some people who call themselves Christians are full of condemnation.

Christ's two commandments are:
“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
Matthew, 22: 37-40

If this is not your personal philosophy then you are not practicing Christianity.

Remember that Christ also teaches us:
“Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.”
Matthew, 5:38-39

Peace. Love. And many blessings.
Pete Spiro
