Just heard that Terri is still awake! Responding with a smile to her mother's whispering in her ear. The love and energy that has been pouring in to her is sustaining her. KEEP IT GOING OUT.

They threatened to arrest Terri's priest who came to give her last rites on Saturday. Maybe 'last rites' won't be necessary if enough people do the right thing, NOW.

Just read the Press Release about the proposed bill in Florida legislature to stop this hideous murder. Maybe it's a ruse to give false hope. Doesn't matter. Their evil will return to THEM. It's a chance for Terri! I will NOT give up! Info on particulars towards the bottom here.

I'm also e-mailing this to the Pennsylvania state reps whose e-mail addresses we have on file. They should know about this. Maybe they can make some calls on Terri's behalf. Time is of the essence. Since we don't have all of their e-mail addresses, maybe one of them will forward this to state senators and their house colleagues. Perhaps you will forward this to your state legislators. Can't hurt. MIRACLES DO HAPPEN.

P.S. Just talked with our webmaster, Darren Weeks. He's now preparing to post the info on the bill that will be presented by Florida House Speaker, Johnnie Byrd. Byrd's phone # is 850.487.5299. Byrd is House Speaker. That doesn't bode well, for it's our experience that the legislative leaders take their orders from others in higher places, then give instructions to the rank and file as to how they MUST vote.

Floridians should call, e-mail and fax both King's and Byrd's office in support of the IMMEDIATE passage of "Terri's Bill". Don't stop with that. Call, e-mail and fax your own senator and representative, and get relevant info to them. They're constantly being overwhelmed with propaganda that keeps them in a mushroom-like state: sitting in the dark, being fed b.s. Time is of the essence.

As of 2:00 PM Terri will have been without sustenance for five full days -- 120 hours without water!

Outside of Florida: Contact Byrd's office, and for the time being, maybe pick 3 - 5 numbers at random; make calls to them on Terri's behalf. Get relevant info to them. Don't overwhelm them or it won't be read. - Thank you. God bless you. -- Jackie

PPS: If you're interested, here's a mail I pulled up this morning from a listener re: the horrors of death by dehydration. One of MANY I've received:

Yes, I'm afraid this is going on regularly with Hospice. This happened with my Grandmother in 1995. She was 97, still sharp as a tack and lived in the home she was born in.

She started having stomach problems, was put in the hospital for tests, they found a mass on her liver. They said there was no point in surgery because of her age. She wasn't "sick" enough to remain in the hospital so they recommended Hospice. My Aunt who had power of attorney and signed the papers.

They came and transferred her to a nursing home where they immediately put her on heavy doses of morphine, and began withholding food and water. I would go there every day. She slept a lot due to the morphine, but when awake (at the beginning) she asked for water over and over.

Hospice provided these sticks with little tiny sponges on the end, we were only allowed to wet them and rub them on her lips. Her tongue swelled up, cracked and bled. Her eyes dried up, terrible muscle cramps - I don't even care to go further.

It took her a week and a half to die. Granted she was old and had a long life, but NO ONE deserves to die such a torturous death. If we did that do a dog, we would be arrested for animal cruelty. I suspect there are many out there who have experience the same with a loved one. - Judy
