FEMA hired Jacksonville, Fla.-based contractor
Landstar System Inc. to coordinate logistics of the
evacuation. Landstar subcontracted the duty of hiring
buses for the evacuation to Washington, D.C.-based
limousine and aviation subcontractor Carey
International, Pantuso said...

... FEMA and the American Bus Association have never
worked in coordination on disaster evacuation efforts
in the past, Pantuso said. The trade group was not
invited to participate in FEMA's mock hurricane drill
in New Orleans last year, and Pantuso found out about
the drill after the fact, he said....

... He will join other local bus operators, including
American Bus Association member Toby Tours Inc., which
was contacted by Carey on behalf of FEMA, and has
provided transportation to evacuees since Aug. 31...
