I am writing to ask you to participate in a letter-writing campaign which was recently suggested by Ila Swan (apeatt@pacbell.net ).

I am interested in hitching this letter-writing campaign to a well-organized campaign that has been initiated by NJCDLP (the National Judicial Conduct and Disability Law Project, Inc.) and WHEAG (Whistleblowers for an Honest, Efficient, and Accountable Government). The latter are busy making arrangements for individuals like ourselves to meet with our Congressional representatives for the purpose of presenting them a 150-page packet which includes materials like that suggested here. I would like to share your testimonial with the senator with whom I am to meet in October. I would also like to share the testimonial of any acquaintances to whom you would forward this notice.

See below for instructions.

Please contact Zena Crenshaw (crenshaw@jorsm.com ) and/or Andrew Jackson (dradjackson@yahoo.com ) for additional information about NJCDLP and the Congressional campaign which it is co-sponsoring with WHEAG.

Sincerely,
Tom Fields

----- Details of this Letter-Writing Campaign -----
I am attaching here the start of nearly 40 letters addressed to Congressional leaders, the Chair of the Senate Aging Committee, the U.S. Attorney General, the DHHS IG, the Medicare Administrator within CMS, my own state's Governor and Attorney General, CNN Headline News, and others.

Each letter includes
* the complete mailing address of the intended recipient ;
* a clear and concise statement of its purpose, and
* a brief summary of some of the most offensive acts of negligence and wrongdoing about which I have complained.

In order to participate in this letter-writing campaign, you need to

Step #1:
Create your testimonial. In no more than 250 words, briefly describe the most offensive act(s) of abuse or neglect suffered by you or a loved one and your frustration in seeking a response to your complaints.

Step #2:
Email your testimonial to me.

Step #3:
Once I have received at least 20 complaints from individuals committed to this campaign, I will distribute them in a new set of letters for you to edit, print, sign and mail.

Step #4:
When you receive the new set of letters, edit them so as to
* emphasize your own complaint by moving it to the top of the list of complaints.
* indicate your own return address at the top of the 1st page,
* indicate your own state's governer (in each letter's CC: list and also in the heading of the letters addressed to him/her)
* indicate your own state's Attorney General (in each letter's CC: list and also in the heading of the letters addressed to him/her)

Step #5:
* Prepare each copy to send by printing and signing it.

Step #6:
* Make up an envelope for each copy.
* Insert each letter in its corresponding envelope.
* Stamp and mail each letter. (The cost of stamps for 40 letters is $14.40)

Please note that the statement of purpose is broad enough to address the complaints of most people with whom I have corresponded. Hopefully this breadth of scope will promote the kind of unified effort which many of us have sought.
