Subject: Order Out of CHAOS

Following is a quote from one of the refugees at the
Superdome. I cannot tell you how many times I have heard the
words "order" and "chaos" since Katrina left New Orleans.
30,000 troops (if I remember the number correctly) are on
their way to "The Big Easy" to bring ORDER to CHAOS. As I am
writing this--the Weather Channel news reporter just said it
again......their buzz words disgust me as much as their
actions. I have been unable to reach any of my relatives or
friends along the gulf coast, there is a note forwarded from
my aunt regarding martial law in her city as well (she lives
in an area that borders NO and my cousin is the Music
Director for a New Orleans high school).
One of the responsibilities of the National Guard will be to
"prevent and restrict" the use of firearms or TAKE THEIR
GUNS!!! We deserve it. We did nothing as they disarmed the
Iraqi citizens or the Australians. We were warned by the
Australians not to let it happen to us. Do you really
believe one of the refugees fired at the helicopter? That
was the beginning of their "reason" to remove the firearms
from the citizens of New Orleans. THEY MUST BRING ORDER TO
NEW ORLEANS. It is so obvious. Disarming the Iraqi citizens
was another rehearsal...they will "rehearse" their URBAN
WARFARE again, this time in our country--or New Orleans.
Their rehearsals will spread, just as we were told, the next
time possibly in your home town. Time for a revolution.
No food or water for 3 days!!! How nuts would you be???

Donald Dudley, a 55-year-old New Orleans seafood merchant,
complained that when he and other hungry refugees broke into
the kitchen of the convention center and tried to prepare
food, the National Guard chased them away.
"They pulled guns and told us we had to leave that kitchen
or they would blow our damn brains out," he said. "We don't
want their help. Give us some vehicles and we'll get
ourselves out of here!"

Quote from my aunt-
My sil just came in for lunch, she said the police are
telling businesses in this area that they need to be careful
of thieves with guns - who know the police are busy
elsewhere - who are banding and going into small stores and
shopping centers stealing purses, robbing stores, etc. We
may have to go under marshall law here too, with so many
evacuees of the type who would be looting in New Orleans.

DEAD BODIES IN TREES THROUGHOUT MISSISSIPPI - 1,000s.
Astonishing Exclusive From Mississippi BREAKING NEWS
Paramedic Rescue Operation | 8-31-05
It is with heavy heart I write this... I have finally
reconnected with my best friend who is a paramedic who was
sent from Georgia 2 days ago to Gulf Port, Mississippi
before the hurricane hit. He just reached me within the last
10 mins via emergency cell phone to tell me he was alive.
Thousands of bodies have been discovered throughout
Mississippi in Gulf Port, Waveland, Hancock County, Bay of
St.Louis.
They are hanging in trees and they are pulling them out 30
at a time.
Entire families found drowned in their homes and washing up
on shore. The stories he could tell me were brief.
National Guard is on the scene and arresting anyone seen on
the streets. The numbers are staggering and what I have been
told tonight will shake people to their foundation as the
numbers will be coming out in the next 24-hours of just how
many people have actually perished in these and 3 other
beach communities. More to follow....

How you can help house a hurricane victim--pasted from a
forward from MOVEON.org
Dear MoveOn member,
Do you have a spare room, bed or couch to offer a family
fleeing hurricane Katrina?
Please forward this message to anyone in the Southeast who
can help.
Hurricane Katrina's toll on communities, homes and lives has
devastated the nation. Now victims must face the daunting
question of where to go next—and we can help.
Tens of thousands of newly homeless families are being bused
to a stadium in Houston, where they may wait for weeks or
months. At least 80,000 are competing for area shelters, and
countless more are in motels, cars, or wherever they can
stay out of the elements. The Federal Emergency Management
Agency and the Red Cross are scrambling to find shelter for
the displaced.
This morning, we've launched an emergency national housing
drive to connect your empty beds with hurricane victims who
desperately need a place to wait out the storm. You can post
your offer of housing (a spare room, extra bed, even a
decent couch) and search for available housing online at:
http://www.hurricanehousing.org
Housing is most urgently needed within reasonable driving
distance (about 300 miles) of the affected areas in the
Southeast, especially New Orleans.
Please forward this message to anyone you know in the region
who might be able to help.
But no matter where you live, your housing could still make
a world of difference to a person or family in need, so
please offer what you can.
The process is simple:
# You can sign up to become a host by posting a description
of whatever housing you have available, along with contact
information. You can change or remove your offer at any
time.
# Hurricane victims, local and national relief
organizations, friends and relatives can search the site for
housing. We'll do everything we can to get your offers where
they are needed most. Many shelters actually already have
Internet access, but folks without 'net access can still
make use of the site through case workers and family
members.
# Hurricane victims or relief agencies will contact hosts
and together decide if it's a good match and make the
necessary travel arrangements. The host's address is not
released until a particular match is agreed on.
If hosting doesn't work for you, please consider donating to
the Red Cross to help with the enormous tasks of rescue and
recovery. You can give online at:
http://www.moveon.org/r?r=859
As progressives, we share a core belief that we are all in
this together, and today is an important chance to put that
idea to work. There are thousands of families who have just
lost everything and need a place to stay dry. Let's do what
we can to help.

Thanks for being there when it matters most.
