a friend sent me the following:
If you have not heard (through mainstream media) about Cindy Sheehan, a mother
who lost her son in Iraq and is sitting vigil outside Crawford, Texas for the
entire month of August if need be, in hopes of asking vacationing George Bush
exactly why her son died, for what "noble cause" he always mentions (We know
the answer is bogus, don't we?).
Please read the following interview:
http://www.alternet.org/story/23984/
So far 34 State Representatives have asked Bush not to arrest her or her
supporters...she's a grieving mom for crissakes! Cindy could be the Rosa Parks
of the Iraq 'war' that makes a change. She's smart, she's articulate, she is
breaking no law, she hates being lied to and is heartsick over her dead son.
Support this brave woman any way you can, even if it's just following her
story as it grows. Bush threatened to have her arrested as a 'national
security risk' by Thursday. If she's a security risk, then you and me are too!
What she is is an 'inconvenience' to Bush. I've heard her talk on Air America
and she is amazing. Just a 'you and me' person, not a politician or
spot-light-grabber.
Post Script:
According to George Bush, to stop the war in Iraq now would bring dishonor to
those who died. This mother thinks not. Dying in a war being fought on the
basis of deception and lies is without honor. The only true way to honor those
who have died in Iraq is to pull out now, impeach George Bush for war crimes
and crimes against humanity, try him in a court of law for those crimes and if
he is found guilty, punish him to the most extreme extent provided by law.
