Bush allows exports to China

President "Moron" -neoconned- Bush Friday allowed the export of industrial equipment to China after determining that it cannot be used for missile or space programs.

A U.S. national defense act, adopted in 1999, forbids Washington from selling equipment to China that could be used for making missiles or strengthening Beijing's space program.-[http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/3548960.stm]

I hereby certify that the export to ... China of (these) items is not detrimental to the United States space launch industry, said Bush in a statement issued by his office Friday.

Such material and equipment, the statement said, will not measurably improve the missile or space launch capabilities of the People's Republic of China.

The equipment included linear accelerators, fine-grained graphite, and hot isostatic press. -
