The Christian News, March 8, 1993, published an article entitled First Moses, Now Rebbe: Messianic Fervor High, By Yosef I. Abramowitz, Special to Religious News Service. Abramowitz is associate editor of Moment, a Jewish Magazine published in Washington. Upon reading this "part one of five-part series" we fail to see how the Jewish Lubavitch movement is any less a cult than the Branch Davidians were accused of being. "Black hats bob up and down, back and forth, in a sea of Hasidim. Rows of bright white fluorescent lights above a gymnasium-size prayer hall at Lubavitch headquarters in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, NY illuminate open prayer books, held inches from thousands of pale faces. Unsynchronized lips mumble the Hebrew of the Shabbat {Sabbath} eve service. Boys with black velvet yarmulkes and buzz haircuts fill the area below the platform with anxious whispers while they elbow each other directly below the steps of the platform. The children's movement becomes more frenzied, nearly uncontrollable. {They are all armed. Their motto is 'To every Jew a 22.'}

'The moshiach {messiah} will come any time now,' Shmulik, a 9-year-old, tells me. His black yarmulke proclaims in colorful letters: We Want Moshiach Now! A niggun, a tune, spreads like wildfire, engulfing the Hasidim...'He's arrived,' says a smiling Shmulik. 'Moses was the first redeemer and the Rebbe {Menachem Mendel Schneerson}, as he is know to perhaps millions worldwide, is Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the seventh dynastic leader of Lubavitch Hasidism. Chabad, a Hebrew acronym for intelligence, understanding and knowledge, is used synonymously with the term Lubavitch. The budget of Chabad is tightly kept secret, estimated to be at least $250-million a year. 'There are some fanatics in Lubavitch,' says a prominent businessman and Chabad fund-raiser. 'Lubavitchers who say the Rebbe is the moshiach {messiah} are inhibiting raising money.' A rabbi who works with young people and who is close to Lubavitch agrees. 'Those who claim that the Rebbe is the moshiach are creating chaos with fund-raising,' he says. 'Donations to Chadbad houses are drying up. People supported Lubavitch when it represented outreach and traditional Judaism. Today, they don't want to give to loonies.'

Former U.S. Senator Rudy Boschwitz, a Reform Jew, has donated over $1-million to Lubavitch over many years. He advises Chabad 'to find a successor to the Rebbe. The messianic fever does not help the movement at all. I'm not sure how the messiamism will affect my donations; I'll have to reassess that. Anointing the Rebbe the messiah will turn people away...People may not stop donating to Lubavitch because of the fanatics but we will have a harder time finding new contributors.'

The debate over whether the Rebbe is the messiah ...has engulfed the Lubavitch movement...and ultimately threatens, the credibility of its leadership, its ideology and its world-wide outreach programs.

In an open letter to his friends in the Chabad Lubavitch movement Lawrence Schiffman, professor of Hebrew and Judaic Studies at New York University, wrote in the Long Island Jewish World: - [http://nickpretzlik.com/] -

'What you risk in your messianic pretensions is not your own Jewish observance, but the continued role of Chabad-Lubavitch as a major catalyst of Jewish observance in the wider Jewish community. "The Jewish people as a whole will be its own Messiah. It will attain world dominion by the dissolution of other races, by the abolition of frontiers, the annihilation of monarchy, and by the establishment of a world republic in which the Jews will everywhere exercise the privilege of citizenship. In this new world order the Children of Israel will furnish all the leaders without encountering opposition. The Governments of the different peoples forming the world republic will fall without difficulty into the hands of the Jews. It will then be possible for the Jewish rulers to abolish private property, and everywhere to make use of the resources of the state. Thus will the promise of the Talmud be fulfilled, in which is said that when the Messianic time is come the Jews will have all the property of the whole world in their hands." Every one assumes that the Jewish Messiah is the Messiah the Christians are awaiting; not true! The Jewish Messiah is a material, physical, world leader, and the misguided Christians are expecting a mystical Messiah of strictly a Spiritual nature. To God, this must look like a comedy of errors! You see God knows the TRUTH, period!

Of course the Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson isn't the Hebrew Messiah. But there is some sort of magic in his birth date. It seems no one can get it correct! "And in 1982 their American Friends of Lubavitch lobby in Washington urged all 500,000 Lubavitch followers in thirty states to deluge U.S. Congressmen with appeals to declare April 4, Menachem M. Schneerson's eightieth birthday, 'A National Day of Reflection.'" Congress seems to be preoccupied with Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, in a joint Resolution, designed to make the Jewish "Seven Noahide Laws" {Talmudic Laws - Schneerson is a Talmudic Jew and the Talmud was written by Rabbis such as Schneerson and has nothing on God's green earth to do with the Bible} the law of the United States. The Resolution was introduced in the House by Representatives Robert H. Michel (R-Ill) and by Richard Gebhardt (D-MO). It was then co-sponsored by 224 more Congressmen, and reads in part "WHEREAS: Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, leader of the Lubavitch movement, is universally respected and his eighty-ninth birthday falls on March 26, 1991...Now therefore be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representative of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That March 26, 1991, the start of the ninetieth year of Rabbi Menachem Schneerson, leader of the world-wide Lubavitch movement, is designated as 'Education Day, U.S.A.'" Washington has such a deep interest in Jewish affairs, one no longer wonders why Washington does not put "America First." With Washington America doesn't come first!

On May 23, 1993, a movie being filmed while the assault on the Brach Davidian compound at Waco, Texas was in progress, the Jewish Star of David was depicted behind the band. In the pictures I saw of the actual room I never saw that STAR. The film was created out of evil intent to justify the Satanic attack on Koresh and his followers.

The following from Charles A. Weisman's Book "Who is Esau-Edom?": "During the Middle Ages Jews were found guilty of ritual murder of Lincoln in 1225; in France at Blois in 1171; and in Northern Italy at Trent in 1475. The Jewish Encyclopedia lists 121 Ritual Murder cases from 1146 to 1900, which were tired in courts. Many of the listings show convictions and the mode in which guilty Jews were executed." (Jewish Encyclopedia, Vol. III, (1903) pp. 266-267).

Continuing in "Who is Esau-Edom?": "From 1900 to the 1939's there have been about another twenty cases of ritual murder by Jews. Even to this day there are reports of ritual murder of children by certain extremist Hasidic Orthodox Jewish sects."
