Impeachment Fracas

As the western states burn and the eastern ones bake, the impeachment movement is really heating up. Abuse after abuse within the Bush administration is being uncovered and the public is nowhere near as susceptible to well-timed terrorism alerts. Outrage is finally beginning to replace complacency and fear.

With outrage comes action, and this past week a sit-in in PDA advisory board member Rep. John Conyers’ office led to the arrest of several dozen activists, among them PDA advisory board members, Cindy Sheehan, David Swanson, and Rev. Lennox Yearwood. In politics, even one’s closest allies don’t always see eye-to-eye and this is certainly one of those occasions. [more]

On Aug. 2, 2007, Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH) received over 100,000 Petitions from citizens across the country demanding the Impeachment of Vice-President Dick Cheney. The popular Congressman from Ohio is a leader in the House of Representatives on this important Constitutional issue. On April 24, 2007, he introduced, via H Res 333, Articles of Impeachment against V.P. Cheney.

At the press conference: Rep. Kucinich renewed his charges that the V.P. had “fabricated” the Intelligence process to take us into the Iraqi war and that he had also “subverted” the national security of the nation in the process, which has led to the deaths of “more than 3,500” U.S. troops in the conflict; and to the deaths of an estimated “1,000,000 innocent Iraqis.” As of today, H Res 333 has 16 cosponsors.

Please view the press conference and send an email NOW to your member of congress and ask them to join us in supporting H Res 333.
