Dear Editor:

Thank you for your diligent defense of political freedom and the First Amendment
in the face of attemtps to resurrect the mis-named "Fairness Doctrine."

However, one has to laugh with irony at talk of protecting Rush Limbaugh and of
Limbaugh himself grandstanding on the issue.

During the Clinton Administration, the Legal Affairs Council fought against
efforts to revive the Fairness Doctrine then. Remember that this was an FCC regulation,
so Bill Clinton could have re-imposed it on his own. The Legal Affairs Council
mentioned many radio talk show hosts as examples of who might be affected.

The hypocrite Rush Limbaugh filed a massive lawsuit against the Legal Affairs
Council to try to stop LAC from defending Limbaugh. Limbaugh claimed that it was
fraudulent to say that the was any threat to Limbaugh from the Fairness Doctrine.
However, Limbaugh directly contradicts his earlier position on the radio. The danger
under the Clinton Administration's FCC was greater than under Presidnet Bush.
