The Power Elite

For the benefit of our new subscribers let's take a look at who runs
America and where they are running us.

Four Men

In the early 60s, when I was a staff investigator for the House Committee
on Un-American Activities, I was introduced to Mark Jones, a brilliant
financial and business genius who had been advisor to such men as John D.
Rockefeller, Jr. and Ben Fairless, chairman of U.S. Steel. Often, when
Jones came to Washington, we would have lunch and he would explain to me
the power structure in America. One day, Jones astounded me with the
statement, "four men have such massive financial power, through
interlocking directorates in corporations, banks, holding companies,
foundations and elite policy councils that they virtually control
America." Jones explained that the four men operated behind the
scenes, choosing others to front for them either as corporate heads,
senators or U.S. presidents. He stressed the fact that they prefer
anonymity to publicity because that way, "their power can never be
questioned or challenged if the public is unaware of it."

Over the ensuing months, Mark Jones gave me a graduate course on the
subject of hidden power derived from the geometric multiplication of
influence through membership on interlocking corporate and banking boards
of directors.

The Only Thing We Fear is Exposure

Other geo-political experts have verified this explanation of hidden
un-elected power. One of them was Norman Dodd, the Yale honors graduate
and New York banker who, in 1953, was appointed research director of the
House of Representatives Special Committee to investigate Tax Exempt
Foundations, referred to as the Reece Committee after its chairman Rep.
Carroll Reece (R-TN).The committee purpose was to determine if any large

exempt funds to support radical or internationalist causes which might
undermine the United States. When one of the organizations targeted for
investigation was notified of that fact, its executive director demanded
a private meeting with Mr. Dodd at which he stated, "We are the most
powerful organization in America and we grow more powerful every year -
we fear no one. The only thing we fear is exposure" which would

The Council on Foreign Relations

Research by the Reece Committee documented the growing power and hidden
influence of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) over America's
foreign and monetary policies. Founded in 1921, the CFR was directing
America's foreign policy as early as 1939. As seen by the record, it is
nearly impossible for any president, Democrat or Republican, to appoint
Secretaries of State or Treasury persons who are not CFR members.

Clinton's Secretary of State Christopher and Secretary of Treasury Rubin
are CFR members. The leadership of our intelligence community -CIA - is
also dominated by CFR members - from Allen Dulles in Eisenhower's
administration to John M. Deutch, Clinton's latest pick as CIA director.
The same is the case with the ultra-secret National Security Agency (NSA)
which has the capability of spying on anyone (foreign or American)
anywhere in the world. Nicknamed "the Puzzle Palace," NSA can
eavesdrop on any phone or Fax call and does monitor every foreign call.
Past NSA directors Adm. Bobby Ray Inman, Marshall Carter and Lt. Gen.
William Odom have all been CFR members

Mandatory Secrecy

It is all very hush hush at the private off-the-record CFR
luncheon meetings when affairs of state are discussed and where, we have
no doubt, decisions are made. CFR by-laws state that no member may
discuss the briefings publicly or they will be expelled from membership.
It would be enlightening to learn what the CFR self-appointed elitists
decided for America at their February 1, 1995 meeting about "U.N.
Peacekeeping Missions," chaired by Lawrence S. Eagleburger, former
Secretary of State for George Bush. It was Eagleburger who opposed U.S.
recognition of Slovenia and Croatia when they declared their independence
from the communist Serb dominated government of Yugoslavia. It was
Eagleburger who had cozy ties with the Yugoslav communist government and
served on the boards of their central bank and auto company. A strong
caseThe Power Elite.ems could be made that by delaying the U.S.
recognition of Slovenia and Croatia, Eagleburger's decision emboldened
the Serb government to slaughter the Croats and Bosnians.

The protracted bloodletting in Bosnia and now the
"peace-keeping mission" is one example of how CFR members
manipulate America's foreign policy. It also demonstrates how CFR policy
can help network of policy insiders reap tremendous financial benefits
from underwriting U.S. Treasury dept to pay for the "peace-keeping
mission."
