About Iraq on the Record
Presented by Rep. Henry A. Waxman
http://democrats.reform.house.gov/IraqOnTheRecord/

On March 19, 2003, U.S. forces began military operations in Iraq. Addressing the nation about the purpose of the war on the day the bombing began, President Bush stated: The people of the United States and our friends and allies will not live at the mercy of an outlaw regime that threatens the peace with weapons of mass murder. Two years later, many doubts have been raised regarding the Administration's assertions about the threat posed by Iraq.

Prepared at the direction of Rep. Henry A. Waxman, Iraq on the Record is a searchable collection of 237 specific misleading statements made by Bush Administration officials about the threat posed by Iraq. It contains statements that were misleading based on what was known to the Administration at the time the statements were made. It does not include statements that appear mistaken only in hindsight. If a statement was an accurate reflection of U.S. intelligence at the time it was made, it was excluded even if it now appears erroneous. For more information on how the statements were selected, see the full methodology. The Iraq on the Record Report is a comprehensive examination of these statements.

Iraq on the Record is searchable by the the five Administration officials most responsible for providing public information and shaping public opinion on Iraq:

President George W. Bush
Vice President Dick Cheney
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld
Then-Secretary of State Colin Powell
Then-National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice

It is also searchable by issue area:

Iraq's Nuclear Capabilities
Chemical and Biological Weapons
Iraq and Al-Qaeda
Iraq as an Urgent Threat

It is also searchable by keyword, such as "mushroom cloud", "uranium", or "bin Laden."

FREE PDF E-BOOK TO LEGAL JUSTICE REFORM ADVOCATES or FIFTY ONE LEGAL REPORTS VALUE $255 WITH PURCHASE OF SOFT COVER EDITION. All book proceeds donated to the cause of legal justice reform.

Sorrell, the national director for United Citizens for Legal Reform says his book is prophetic about the acceleration of the undeclared war on crime in America. He cites USJD statistics that reveal 159,000,000 million crimes were committed against Americans during the 12-year period ending 2002.

Sorrell says a simple comparison can be made between Home Grown Terrorism as opposed to Offshore Terrorism using statistics from the U.S. Justice Department. During the period beginning with and including the 9/11 tragedy and continuing on to the present, Offshore Terrorism has claimed the lives of approximately 7500 Americans. The cost of that declared war to date has been approximately $300 billion dollars. During the exact same period of time Homegrown Terrorism (the undeclared war against crime in America) has claimed the lives of approximately 50,000 Americans (murdered). That is only a small percentage of the 2 million total violent crimes against Americans in that period. Many of these murders and crimes have been far more violent, heinous and barbaric than those committed in the Offshore Terrorism war. The cost of Homegrown Terrorism during that period has exceeded $2 trillion dollars with an ongoing cost of $675 billion annually.

In his book, the author says the most feared and deadliest home grown terrorist in America are the DWI's that drive on America's streets and highways. He states that these home grown terrorists have killed and maimed more Americans than in all our wars combined. He blames the revolving door justice system with lawyers on and off the bench that monopolize the justice system for this tragic fact. He says it is shameful that great numbers of DWI's are on the streets and some with as many as twenty prior arrests. Sorrell states also the 350% increase in crime during the past 40-years is tied directly to immorality in the nation. He says studies show the $50 billion per year Pornography industry is translating into more vicious sex crimes daily. A complete chapter of the book is devoted to the subject of increased immorality in the nation translating into crime.

Sorrell states that Homegrown Terrorism is the most dangerous and deadly war Americans have ever faced-claiming no war has ever altered the lifestyle of Americans more radically. He states unless our government leaders actually declare war against crime in America and begin with drastic legal justice reform the nation will face vigilante justice and anarchy in the future. He cites examples of vigilante justice in and out of the courtroom that have occurred recently. A chapter of the book details 21-suggestions for winning the war on crime-with a priority focus on legal justice reform.

Sorrell who previously produced and hosted the radio talk show on Justice in America is the founder of United Citizens For Legal Reform with Internet web site at http://www.atps.com/uclr. Since founding the organization in 1990, Sorrell says over 300,000 people have visited the web site-with thousands registering complaints calling for legal justice reform of the civil and criminal justice system. Sorrell has been a litigation consultant and law firm investigator. A free copy of the book is available to the media. Sorrell is available for scheduling media, radio and TV interviews nationwide.
