Over and over again I get asked on this forum, "Well, if you don't believe the official story, what do you think happened?" I just wrote this in response to one such question, but it's buried as post 100 and something in another thread. So that I never have to answer this question again, here it is, right up front.
Ultimately, all the truth movement needs to do is prove what didn't happen on 9/11. What did happen may surprise even us when it comes out, but for your benefit, I will lay out my basic theory once again:
MOTIVE
After the Cold War, a group of neoconservative politicians got together and thought about America's future. They wanted to establish America as the sole superpower in the coming century. They wanted America to be like ancient Rome, a great benevolent global empire. They knew they needed to prevent the emergence of a new rival, and to prevent smaller countries from banding together to form a hostile coalition which might one day challenge them. The Middle East and Central Asia were a particular concern, and so it was decided that it would be in their interest to foment continual sectarian squabbles there to keep those folks from coming together. This region was also valuable because of its massive opium crops, upon which the teetering US economy was largely dependent, with $600 billion in drug money being laundered through US banking systems every year. And the region was important because it contained the last major oil reserves on the planet. Even if all civilian and industrial energy came from other, renewable sources, oil would still be needed for the war machine. Quite obviously, a solar-powered tank would never be as fast or have as long a range as one running on diesel, so for the military to give up petroleum fuel would be crazy from a tactical standpoint.

This group of neoconservatives got together and founded a think-tank called the Project for a New American Century. Everything I've said in the preceding paragraph isn't crazy lefty propaganda; it is laid out in plain English in their own publications. Notable members of PNAC included Dick Cheney, Jeb Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Dov Zakheim, Richard Perle, Zbigniew Brzezinski and Paul Wolfowitz. Wolfowitz was clearly the intellectual heavyweight of the group, and the drive for a massive escalation in military spending to achieve world domination became known as the "Wolfowitz Doctine". In September of 2000, PNAC published a document entitled "Rebuilding America's Defenses" in which they lamented how the American people weren't likely to get behind their big plan. As Brzezinski had noted in his 1997 book, The Grand Chessboard, "Democracy is inimical to imperial mobilization". (p. 35) He went on to note that "as America becomes an increasingly multicultural society, it may find it more difficult to fashion a consensus on foreign policy issues, except in the circumstance of a truly massive and widely perceived direct external threat." (p. 211) The 2000 PNAC document echoed this sentiment, saying "the process of transformation is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event like a new Pearl Harbor".
WHAT HAPPENED ON 9/11
Planning and preparation for 9/11 took a few years. Clinton may or may not have been aware of what was going on, and if he did he deserves the same punishment as the rest of them. At any rate, the first thing any black op needs is a set of patsies. There were plenty of Middle Easterners angry at the US for its longstanding sanctions on Iraq, support of Israel, and various other foreign policy decisions. So finding some useful idiots wasn't hard. Some of the hijackers were already known terrorists, so getting them into the country was a little tricky, but 15 of them got their visas at a Saudia Arabian consulate where the CIA hands out magic golden tickets to intelligence assets. The FBI monitored many of these guys via programs like Able Danger, but did as they were told and left them alone. Prime suspects: A.B. "Buzzy" Krongard of the CIA and Dave Frasca of the FBI's Radical Fundamentalism Unit. Krongard's involvement is inferred because he used to run the bank through which much of the 9/11 insider trading was done, and Frasca is a ringer, because he is the one who quashed reports from several pesky agents who were tracking the hijackers independently and trying to want officials about what they were doing.
The intelligence side of things was dealt with, but now the plotters had to worry about getting the hijacked planes past America's formidable air defenses. It wasn't that hard, and they pulled out one of the oldest tricks in the black ops handbook by scheduling numerous anti-terrorism drills on the same day that the terrorist attack was to take place. 15 or more drills were going on the morning of 9/11, including simulated hijackings and simulated plane crashes into buildings (but we never envisioned that sort of attack, claims Condoleeza) and so the Air Force was spread so thin that it couldn't stop the attacks. Prime suspects: Dick "of course the orders still stand" Cheney, General Richard Myers, General Ralph Eberhart
Therein lies the stuff I'm pretty sure of. The following I find likely, but the jury isn't completely in as far as I'm concerned:
Remote Control
The problem with useful idiots is that they are, well, idiots. WTC93 and OKC had been f-ed up because of the patsies, and they weren't taking any chances this time, so the real perps took remote control of the planes at some point and guided them into their targets. Prime suspects: PNAC member Dov Zakheim, a former executive at System Planning Corporation, which makes said technology, and one of his lackeys. Zakheim, as I previously noted, was also the comptroller of the Pentagon during the period when $2.3 trillion went missing, and I shudder to think what that money has been used for.
Controlled Demolition
WTC 1 and 2 had to come down, but the perps weren't certain the planes would do the trick. So they had half a dozen operatives lace the buildings with remote-detonated thermate cutter charges and possibly other explosives. The perps wanted something really spectacular to really scar the public psyche, and they also knew that those big white elephants were costing billions of dollars. WTC7 would have to go as well, because it contained the other set of records from the Pentagon on that missing $2.3 trillion dollars. It would actually serve as a wholesale evidence destruction clearinghouse, because it had offices for the DoD, CIA, FBI, SEC, SS and various shady banks. Just one example of the side benefits was the end of the ongoing investigation into Enron's $70 billion California energy swindle. Prime suspects: "Lucky" Larry Silverstein, the politically-connected real estate tycoon who owned the buildings and made billions off of insurance, Marvin Bush and Wirt D. Walker the III, the primaries of the company which ran electronic security for the towers, as well as one of the airports used.
