How US Middle East policies are leading USA and Britain to disaster?
Many months prior to the US invasion of Iraq I wrote how the invasion of Iraq
would lead to the military defeat and economic collapse of the USA. Now over
two years since the invasion I thought it would be timely to do an update
article on the current situation in the Middle East, and what the coming
defeat of America and Britain will mean to the world.
The US-lead coalition in Afghanistan has failed to achieve its goals to kill
to capture Osama bin Laden and destroy al-Qaeda and the Taleban. While the
Taleban Government was successfully overthrown, Mohammed Omar and many of the
Taleban leadership have evaded capture, have regrouped and are increasing
their attacks against the Kabul Government and the coalition forces required
to keep them in office. The failure to capture or kill Osama bin Laden and
destroy al-Qaeda has highlighted the limitations of American military might in
defeating a determined enemy and achieve its objectives. To cap it all off,
the grateful Afghans are now demonstrating in the streets against the USA.
The American occupation of Iraq has now evolved into a similar quagmire to
what the USA found itself in Vietnam, with the eventual outcome being the
same. The coming defeat and forced withdrawal from Iraq will be far more
humiliating, and have far more serious consequences than America’s defeat in
Vietnam.
While the invasion of Iraq was successful in over-throwing Saddam, it has also
upset the balance of power in the Middle East, and created a cause for al-Qaeda
to unify the Muslim fundamentalist groups in their fight against the USA. The
invasion of Iraq has failed to defeat the previous governing Baathist Party,
or force the Iraqi army to surrender. Strategically the war has been a
disaster for the USA. Not only has the illegal invasion destroyed confidence
in American leadership around the world, it has resulted in Britain and
America becoming isolated as they have become bogged down in an endless war of
attrition against an determined Iraqi resistance, supported by al-Qaeda, with
no victory in sight.
What is not understood by the general public is the seriousness of the current
situation, and what the consequences of the coming defeat of Britain and
America in Iraq will be. Both the USA and Britain are now a no-win situation.
If they withdraw from Iraq, they loose control of the Persian Gulf and its
oil. Yet by remaining in Iraq the situation only becomes worse, as they become
ever deeper bogged down in the quagmire in the war against the Iraqi
resistance.
Meanwhile, the region’s geopolitical situation continues to deteriorate. The
temporary Shiite-dominated Iraqi Government, backed by Iran, would like to see
Iraq become a theocracy modelled along the lines of Iran. The Iraqi Sunnis and
al-Qaeda, backed by their friends abroad (Saudi Arabia, Jordon and Syria), are
increasing their supply in weapons and finance in support of the resistance.
The Kurds continue to assert their independence, making it difficult for the
Iraqi Government to exercise any real control over their region.
The Bush administration has made much about introducing democracy in Iraq; the
reality is that the invasion has been a disaster for the Iraqi people and
America’s strategic interests in the region. The recently elected Iraqi
government is dominated by the pro-Iranian Shiites who have little love
towards America, but need American military support to remain in power. The
real threat to America’s Middle East strategic interests has always been
Iran, whom has always been a greater threat to the security of the USA and
Israel than Saddam ever was.
The over-throw of Saddam has strengthened Iran’s position, now having their
Shiite friends in control of the Iraqi Government. It may force America to try
and neutralise the Iranian influence by invading Iran, under the pretence of
destroying Iran’s nuclear threat, rather than allow Iran to gain control of
Iraq. Yet the USA and Britain do not have the military man-power to undertake
an invasion of Iran, and if they did so, would find themselves fighting an
under-resourced war on two fronts – against the Sunnis and al-Qaeda in Iraq,
and the Shiites in Iran. It would result in America and Britain becoming
immersed in an even greater mess than they already are.
Where to now? What will follow the defeat of America and Britain in Iraq?
The coming defeat of Britain and the USA in Iraq will reshape the geopolitical
landscape of the world. Their defeat will be far more humiliating than
America’s defeat in Vietnam. It will lead to the total collapse of the
American Empire – both economically and military.
The continual financial drain on America and British resources required to
maintain their occupying armies in Iraq has become increasingly difficult
politically to justify to a sceptical public in supporting the war. Already
the war has cost over 300 billion dollars, with little to show for it, and no
let up on the demand on military and financial resources required to go on
fighting. To date the war, which was originally going to cost only 30 billion
dollars, has been financed by borrowing, escalating America’s debt.
Yet withdrawing the troops will be an even greater disaster. It would be a
victory for al-Qaeda and Muslim fundamentalists, strengthening their support
and influence throughout the Muslim world. Whoever gained control of Iraq
would then be in a strategic position to invade Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the
Gulf States, and the supply of Middle East oil. They would gain control of the
Persian Gulf, and its shipping lanes. The invasion of Iraq has provided a
front on al-Qaeda’s door-step to suck America into a quagmire where they can
gradually wear them down through a war of attrition.
Without control over the supply of Middle East oil, America’s dominant
influence of the global economy would collapse. It would result in a run and
collapse of the dollar and pound, followed by the total collapse of the
debt-ridden US and British economies.
There will be little sympathy from the rest of the world for America’s
defeat in Iraq. Most nations have become tired of American arrogance and
hypocrisy – it preaching to the world how other nations conduct their
affairs, while it flouts international law. Increasingly, the rest of the
world is withdrawing its limited support to the American occupation of Iraq.
Few actually comprehend that America will be defeated, and what is to follow.
The collapse of the United States will have dire consequences to the Asian
economies, which have expanded rapidly through debt financing, exports to the
USA, and their sizable investments in the US economy. While their economies
will be severely hurt, it will not be fatal as that of the USA and Britain,
and will eventually recover. Political turmoil will follow economic turmoil.
Britain and America will be blamed for the economic chaos the world will be
thrown into, as a result of their reckless spending, warmongering and
extravagant lifestyles.
The Anglo-Saxon nations will quickly slide into total anarchy. Their money
will be worthless, their economies in total collapse, and their people living
in abject poverty. Starvation will be wide-spread. Disease will become
rampant. There will be a total break-down in law and order. There military
defence will cease.
The people of Britain and America have been greatly blessed for the last 200
years. These blessings were given to them by God, not as a result of their
physical or intellectual abilities. These blessings are now being replaced by
curses for rejecting God and His Laws. Yet the Anglo-Saxon nations are
oblivious to the disaster that lies ahead. There economies appear to be
booming, financed on borrowed money from Asia and cheap credit. This
artificially created prosperity will eventually evaporate into thin air,
leaving our people destitute.
The military and economic defeat of America and Britain will result in a shift
in the global balance of power. No longer will the Anglo-Saxon nations
dominate the world as they have for the last 200 years. In place will emerge
new power blocs in Asia and Europe? The collapse of the US will produce a
period of great economic turmoil, and depression. Europe will emerge as the
most powerful global economic power bloc, under the newly federated,
Germanic-dominated United States of Europe, made up of those nations that
accept the new European constitution.
The new United States of Europe will establish a new world order, and rebuild
the global economy on a new economic model. This new Super-State will impose
new social and economic order, with enforced environmental standards, and
controls on how the global economy is managed. It will impose new moral
standards and values, in co-operation with a Catholic Church whose goal is to
bring unity and order to the world. This new power bloc will restore order out
of chaos, but subject those who reject its authority to slavery.
