Call Governor Bush, he HAS the authority to save Terri, absolutely!
This is a Hospice Patients Alliance Newsletter March 23, 2005, 5th edition, sent out periodically reporting about news affecting hospice and end-of-life care.
Hospice Patients Alliance has the greatest respect for the dedicated professionals serving in hospitals, nursing homes, hospices and doctors' offices who respect patients' rights to self determination, practice ethically and do NOT impose death on their patients!

"Dr. Wm Cheshire of the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, spent one hour in Terri's room observing her and, also, watched the full set of the exam videos of Terri. He has concluded that Terri has been misdiagnosed and is not in PVS, but instead is in a minimally conscious state." PFA
Raquel Rodriguez, the Governor's General Counsel, confirmed that DCF has the emergency power to take Terri into protective custody. She would not rule that out.
JUDGE GREER SAID GOVERNOR BUSH HAS NO AUTHORITY TO DO SO AND IS NOW ATTEMPTING TO BLOCK THE DCF FROM ENTERING THE HOSPICE AND TAKING TERRI INTO PROTECTIVE CUSTODY.

FLORIDA STATUTE 415.1051
(2) EMERGENCY PROTECTIVE SERVICES INTERVENTION.--If the department has reasonable cause to believe that a vulnerable adult is suffering from abuse or neglect that presents a risk of death or serious physical injury to the vulnerable adult . . . the department may take action under this subsection.
(a) Emergency entry of premises.--If, upon arrival at the scene of the incident, consent is not obtained for access to the alleged victim for purposes of conducting a protective investigation under this subsection and the department has reason to believe that the situation presents a risk of death or serious physical injury, a representative of the department and a law enforcement officer may forcibly enter the premises.
(b) Emergency removal from premises.--If it appears that the vulnerable adult . . . is likely to incur a risk of death or serious physical injury if such person is not immediately removed from the premises, then the representative of the department shall transport or arrange for the transportation of the vulnerable adult to an appropriate medical or protective services facility in order to provide emergency protective services.
GOV BUSH IS MANDATED BY LAW TO ENFORCE THE LAWS OF FLORIDA, EVEN TO USE THE MILITIA IF NEEDED.
CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA ARTICLE IV Section 1
(a) The supreme executive power shall be vested in a governor, who shall be commander-in-chief of all military forces of the state not in active service of the United States. The governor shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed, commission all officers of the state and counties, and transact all necessary business with the officers of government. The governor may require information in writing from all executive or administrative state, county or municipal officers upon any subject relating to the duties of their respective offices. The governor shall be the chief administrative officer of the state responsible for the planning and budgeting for the state.
(d) The governor shall have power to call out the militia to preserve the public peace, execute the laws of the state, suppress insurrection, or repel invasion.

New law will discourage euthanasia advice: Nitschke
Voluntary euthanasia campaigner Dr Philip Nitschke has attacked a Federal Government bill which he says will make it impossible to provide help to people seeking to end their life.
The bill would make it illegal to provide information by Internet, telephone or fax on how to commit suicide.
It is due to be debated in Parliament in May.
