The U.S. Department of Defense recently placed a
massive order for refrigerated containers with the
dutch company P&O Nedlloyd for shipping bodies of
dead soldiers home from Iraq. P&O Nedlloyd
( www.ponl.com ) formed in the 1990s through the merger
of P&O Containers and Nedlloyd Lines, is one of the
largest global shipping and logistics companies,
"offering customers a full range of quality
international logistics services."

The U.S. Defense Department told the CEO of P&O
Nedlloyd that they are in a hurry and want delivery
of the containers before Thanksgiving, 2002. They
also told the Company that they wanted to buy their
entire stock of suitably sized refrigerated
containers. To meet the demand, the CEO of P&O
Nedlloyd has instructed the company's branches around
the world to assemble all available containers.
