Subject: WHAT SHOULD BE DONE TO TRACK SEX OFFENDERS?*

John Evander Couey had worked in two Florida schools (construction/
custodial), after earlier child molestation convictions. Jessica
Lunsford attended third grade at one of those schools. Why was a
convicted child molester working in elementary schools?
Hi Extreme Team!
WHAT SHOULD BE DONE TO TRACK SEX OFFENDERS?*
Is chemical castration advisable? Do we need to put more law enforcement
tracking dollars into computers and personnel? Beyond registering, shouldn't
they have to wear a transmitting bracelet or a microchip for a certain
amount of years? One reason why a lot of child molesters get killed in
prison is that the prisoners who kill them instinctively realize child
molesters deserve to die. No argument here.
Something has to be done. Statistically, these monsters overwhelmingly
repeat their offenses as soon as they're paroled. Is it too much to ask that
they not be paroled?
I'm all for the death penalty for child molesters. But society seems a
little more humane than that, so I'll go with society. You let these scum
out of jail, and you know they're going to do it again and again until they
get put out of business. So you better know where they are, because, if they
kill and it was your job to know where they are, you share the guilt of
their crime.
Jessica Lunsford would be alive if the tracking system worked. So would
thousands of other children and women.
How can we effectively track sex offenders?
