(CWRL) for the Division of Rhetoric and Composition

Bill Wolff, assistant director of UT’s Computer Writing and Research Lab (CWRL) for the Division of Rhetoric and Composition, offers similar advice and recommends that designers create their site through the lens of accessibility rather than as an afterthought.

“When your site is under girded by accessible code and design, your site design will become cleaner and your navigation more user friendly,” said Wolff, who lead UT's winning team. “Too often designers create pages based on what they see on their own screen. Instead, we need to create pages based on what users of the sites are going to see or hear on their screens. That small tweak in how we focus our design energies – from ourselves to our users – will have dramatic affects on the creation process.”

The Office of Financial Services at St. Edward’s University placed third in the AIR-U event, lead by Student Financial Services Advisor Willow Lucas. Lucas attended the Knowbility training session and shared her new skills with colleagues as they began to design a new Web site for student financial services.

I am a doctoral candidate in the Computers and English concentration of the Department of English at the University of Texas at Austin, and I will defend my dissertation in July, 2006. In the Fall, I begin working at Rowan University as an Assistant Professor in the Writing Arts department.

Mr. Vardon,

While doing a web search I came across a web page on your server that, the majority of the content of which appears to have been copied directly from an online forum created for the sole use of a class I taught several years ago while I was an instructor at the University of Texas at Austin hosted on a server at the Computer Writing and Research Lab. The web site address is: http://www.apfn.org/apfn/WTC_links.htm.

My name appears on the pages, which could mean an endorsement of your organization, which I do not endorse. I have not given you permission to use this site, nor have I given you permission to reprint the text which I have written. Please remove the site from your server immediately and request Google and the other major search engines to remove it from their cache. If this is not completed within a week, and verified by the search engines, I will be forced to contact Domainsite.com, the organization which has registered your site, as well as the company who is hosting the site (rgsoftware).
